
Fakhr 1
Fakhr 1 is a 3U CubeSat developed by Iran as a technology demonstrator for cube satellite constellations and multi-payload orbital deployment. The satellite was successfully launched into low Earth orbit (LEO) by the Iranian Army using a domestically produced Simorgh rocket.
The primary objective of the Fakhr-1 mission is to validate technologies relevant to the development and operation of cube satellite constellations. The mission serves as a platform for testing locally developed subsystems including the central processing unit, power management, radio communication, and flight dynamics modules. The satellites deployment also supports Irans strategic interest in advancing capabilities for simultaneous multi-payload launches, particularly using the Simorgh launch vehicle.
Fakhr-1 was developed in cooperation between the Iranian Army, SA Iran Corporation, and Malek Ashtar University of Technology. The satellite is named in honor of Dr. Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, a prominent Iranian scientist. The technological design and manufacturing were carried out by specialists within the Ministry of Defense, with the Electronics Industries' Space Group playing a central role.
