The Russian Garpun military relay satellites are the replacement for the Potok / Geizer series for the nation's Command and Relay System (GKKRS) which is also known as Rassvet.
The satellites are developed by ISS Reshetnev, probably based on the Ekspress-2000 bus.
Likely users for the Garpun satellite are Persona and Bars-M optical reconnaissance satellites and the Pion-NKS and Lotos-S ELINT satellites.
Garpun No.11 was stationed at 80° East from 2011 to 2016 and at 13.5° West from 2016 to 2020. It appears to have failed end of June 2020 and is now drifting without control.
