Miles [Team Miles]

Miles is a planned nanosat mission by Team Miles, a group of citizen scientists and engineers that initially came together through Tampa Hackerspace in Florida. It was selected by NASA's CubeQuest Challenge.

Miles is built to the 6U CubeSat standard. The entire Miles mission will be flown autonomously by a sophisticated onboard computer system and propelled by evolutionary plasma thrusters. Miles Space, in partnership with Fluid & Reason, LLC, is making use of a Model-H ion thruster design for CubeSat propulsion.

Miles is one of 10 cubesats carried with the Artemis 1 (Orion CM-002) mission into a heliocentric orbit in cis-lunar space on the maiden flight of the SLS (Block 1) iCPS launch vehicle in November 2022.
