SEO (Satellite for Earth Observation) is a UAE Earth observation satellite developed by the National Space Science and Technology Centre (NSSTC) at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU).
The mission is part of the UAE's programme to develop national space capabilities and provides Emirati researchers and engineers with practical experience in satellite design, development, and operations. The project was carried out in cooperation with international partners.
SEO is intended to support scientific research and technology applications related to sustainability and future development. Its data will be used for environmental protection, natural resource management, and improved planning and decision-making.
The satellite was launched aboard a CZ-2C (3) from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre in China.
