Above is a lobby card from the lost/missing RIDERS OF GOLDEN GULCH (Robert J. Horner / West Coast Studios, 1932). Below is a crop showing left to right, Yakima Canutt, Edmund Cobb, Buffalo Bill Jr. (Jay Wilsey) and an unidentified player on the ground.

Left to right are Al Bridge, Harry Carey Sr. and Yakima Canutt in a duotone lobby card from chapter 3 of THE DEVIL HORSE (Mascot, 1932). This was one of about two dozen serials and features which Canutt did for owner / producer Nat Levine and his Mascot Pictures company. Levine and Mascot were part of the merger that formed Republic Pictures in 1935 ... and Canutt continued working for Levine (and many others) at Republic.

The player on the left is Tommy Coats.

This was among the couple dozen oaters that Wayne starred in for producer Paul Malvern. His first batch of sixteen "Lone Star" westerns were released by Monogram.

After Monogram, Mascot, and other companies merged to form Republic Pictures in 1935, Wayne starred in eight more westerns for Malvern at Republic.

Left to right are young Billy Butts, Tom Keene and Canutt in SCARLET RIVER (RKO, 1933). This was a good 'un about making a western, and Keene was the movie hero. Canutt was on the side of the law for a change, portraying a film company wrangler as well as Keene's stunt double.

Above - a young John Wayne has collared a young and thin Eddie Parker, and on horseback, Yakima Canutt has Earl Dwire under wraps. This re-release lobby card is from THE STAR PACKER (Lone Star/Monogram, 1934), one of eleven 1930s Wayne westerns directed by Bob Steele's father, Robert North Bradbury.
