Adopted by notice number 7 (4th link in first table at town
website (in Japanese)). The emblem was adopted in the same notice (3rd link in the same
table), and is a stylised hiragana no の and kanji gi 木 (tree),
together forming a bold upwards arrow in a circle.

The Hiragana character ”お” is stylized into the shape of wings, and the kanji character “川” is rendered as a circle, symbolizing the merger and cooperation of the three towns and villages.
