Comments:The first specimens of Tanzanite were labelled as coming from the Arusha region, but in fact they were found in the Merelani Hills, on the slope of Lelatema Mountains (which actually are located politically-geographically in the Manyara Region, and not in the Arusha Region), about 70 km southeast of the town of Arusha (located in the Arusha Region).
