Locality type:Quarry
Classification
Species:Arsenopyrite
Formula:FeAsS
Comments:Crystals up to 3mm long disseminated in quartzite.
Habit:Lefevre & Hatert (2003): "Goniometric measurements have shown the presence of the forms {100} and {001}. In general, the crystals also show alternating striations with the axis [101], among which the facets {λ21} and {λ41} have been recognised. Other less frequently occurring crystals present a simpler morphology characterised by the combination {100} {001} {λ31}, with smaller less developed facets {λ01} and {λ11} . Besides the twin (111) in the shape of a St Andrew's cross, the twin (100) has also been observed at the site."
