About Carpholite GroupHide

Carpholite group minerals are double-chain silicates. Pairs of single-chains parallel to [001] are linked by Al3+ and (Mn,Mg,Fe 2+) in octahedral coordination to form a structure with several large cavities (Ferraris et al., 1992; Bertoldi et al., 2006).

Solid links show inferred chemical differences; dashed violet links show same-formula crystallographic differences. Hydration states are not treated as relationship changes. These relationships do not imply any real-world substitution reactions between these species.
