Linked by archaic translations and mineralogical misunderstandings, the quarterfinals are ending in hexagons with vivid pyromorphite vs writeable graphite.

This page is currently not sponsored. Click here to sponsor this page.
Formula:
(A12+A22+)(M13+M23+M33+)O[Si2O7][SiO4](OH)
Synonym:
A synonym of Epidote Group
The name for this group was named clinozoisite group by Armbuster et al. 2006), but renamed as epidote group by IMA (proposal 09-A, cfr Mills et al. 2009) probably because the name "epidote group" was very firmly established in the lit-
erature.

Members of the clinozoisite group are derived from the mineral clinozoisite, Ca2Al3[Si2O7][SiO4]O(OH), solely by homovalent substitutions. The key cation and anion sites are A1 = M2+, A2 = M2+, M1 = M3+, M2 = M3+, M3 = M3+,O4 = O2-, O10 = (OH)- (Armbruster et al. 2006).
