Reported as mineral "C", a part of composition of gummite (see also UM1956-02-SiO:CaHU); similar to wölsendorfite in terms of both PXRD pattern and chemistry. The PXRD pattern is also similar to that of schoepite. Colour resembles that of clarkeite.

From Mitchell County, North Carolina: Wiseman mine and McKinney mine; Easton, Pennsylvania (alteration of uraninite or uranoan thorianite); Newry, Maine.

Forms dense microcrystalline aggregates.
