UM1973-02-As:PbPdPtSn

This page is currently not sponsored. Click here to sponsor this page.
Formula:
(Pd,Pt)5(As,Sn,Pb)2
From original paper: (Pd,Pt)2+x(As,Sn,Pb)
Crystal System:
Tetragonal
Possibly the As analogue of palarstanide, but only in chemical (not structural) terms.

Chemically practically identical to Unnamed (Pd Arsenide), also from the Noril'sk area.

Analysis of a single grain; probably identical with the phase of the ~(Pd,Pt)3(Sn,As) composition (UM1973-08-E:AsPdPtSn in the Valid Unnamed Minerals list, also tetragonal thus different from atokite).

Grains, 2 - 300 microns in diameter. Associated minerals: chalcopyrite, cubanite, djerfisherite, galena, gold, magnetite, pentlandite, polarite, sperrylite, sphalerite, valleriite, other PGM, Ag-Au alloys.
