Formula:
Mg5(CO3)4(OH)2 · 8H2O
Colour:
Snow-white to gray
Higher hydrate counterpart of dypingite, giorgiosite, and hydromagnesite.

Compare also artinite, so-called shelkovite, and 'UM1987-01-CO:HMgS'.

Possibly identical to dypingite, but differs in optical properties.

Forms oolitic, botryoidal, or reniform aggregates, with artinite, chrysotile, hydromagnesite, brugnatellite, nesquehonite, and pyroaurite, on weathered surface of a brucite-containing serpentinite, at Yoshikawa, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. Very fine-grained.
