Subarkose

A rock subtype

A sandstone that does not have enough feldspar to be classed as an arkose ( I.e. 5-15% feldspar), and is intermediate in composition between arkose and pure quartz-sandstone. Related to subfeldspathic-arenite but may have >15% matrix.
