Formula:
(V,Ti)C
Probably the V analogue of khamrabaevite. Unique combination of elements (for an oxygen-free species).
Found as triangular inclusions in oceanic hydrothermal-origin graphite (from a sediment trap) near an active hydrothermal vent. The iron-magnetite buffer of the formation conditions suggests basalt serpentinization as a possible related process. The microprobe analysis was done on a 1 x 5 microns-sized inclusion.
