Found within inclusions within lower-mantle diamond. Probably the Mg analogue of xieite, dimorphous with magnesiochromite.

Coexists with parascandolaite, 'Unnamed (Calcium Chromium Oxide Postspinel)', 'ferropericlase', 'Unnamed (Orthorhombic Polymorph of Magnesium Oxide)', calcite, apatite group, spinel group, periclase, wÞstite, and probably nitrogen-bearing yarlongite.
