Name:
Named for it relationship to sartorite and for dekatria- (Greek for thirteen) for the thirteen-fold superstructure of a 4.2 Å subcell.

Sartorite itself was named after Wolfgang Sartorius von Waltershausen (17 December 1809, GÃķttingen, Germany - 16 March 1876, GÃķttingen, Germany), Professor of Mineralogy, University of GÃķttingen, Germany. He was the first to describe the mineral.
