Synonym:
A synonym of Ferritungstite
A mineral from La Chezes Mine, Meymac, Corrèze France described as a new species named Meymacite after the locality by Carnot (1874).
Considered in the 20th century as a dubious species. Pierrot & van Tassel (1965) re-examined the type material and found it to be identical with ferritungstite.

Note:
A new phase, different from the original Meymacite (of Carnot) was described by Pierrot & van Tassel (1965) as a new mineral from Nzombe, South Kivu, DR Congo and given the name Meymacite. This redefined and valid species meymacite (Meymacite of Pierrot & van Tassel) also occurs at Meymac (Ansermet et al., 2010).
