Joachim Esche's bio

Ever since my childhood, I have been interested in two things: the sky above me and the stones beneath my feet. A stay of several months in Namibia as a student in the summer of 1978 ultimately tipped the balance in favour of the stones. Over the first 30 years, the focus of my collecting activities changed several times. The acquisition of a drawer containing partially processed material from Aris brought me closer to this locality. Since then, I have focused exclusively on this locality. During this time, I have discovered several new minerals, some of which are still being processed and which are new both to the locality and to the world.
