Clarity 1 [Albedo]
Clarity 1 Clarity-1 is the first commercial satellite purpose-built for sustained operations in Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO). Developed by Albedo, the satellite is positioned at approximately half the altitude of conventional Earth observation satellites, enabling it to capture highly detailed imagery with unprecedented resolution and thermal data quality. Clarity-1 is designed to provide 10 cm-resolution visible imagery and 2 m-resolution thermal data levels of detail previously achievable only with aircraft-based systems.
Albedos Clarity-1 represents a major milestone in the advancement of commercial Earth observation capabilities. Its low-altitude positioning enables superior spatial resolution and reduced atmospheric interference, enhancing data quality and imaging precision.
The primary objectives of Clarity-1 include:
After launch, the satellite operated for 9 months.
