
MBZ-SAT [MBRSC]
The MBZ-SAT satellite is a 750-kilogram high resolution earth-observation satellite developed by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) in Dubai.
The satellite represents a significant technological advancement over its predecessor KhalifaSat, offering double the image capture accuracy, four times faster data transfer rates, and producing ten times more imagery. With a mass of 750 kg and measuring 3 m × 5 m, MBZ-SAT is designed to support a variety of civil and governmental applications, including mapping, environmental monitoring, navigation, infrastructure management, and disaster relief.
It was launched on 14 January 2025 aboard a Falcon-9 v1.2 (Block 5) rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, USA, and placed into a Sun-synchronous Low Earth Orbit at an altitude of 500550 km.
