Thaicom 10 [Airbus DS]
Thaicom 10 is a planned software-defined, high-throughput communications satellite owned by Thaicom.
Thaicom Public Company Limited, an Asian satellite operator and space technology firm, has chosen Airbus to build its next-generation software-defined high throughput satellite based on the fully reconfigurable OneSat. This Thaicom satellite will provide millions of users with extended Ku-band connectivity across the Asia-Pacific region.
This cutting-edge satellite, which will be positioned in orbit at 119.5 East, will allow Thaicom to propose to other partner operators a share of its satellite's payload capacity, lowering their costs while still ensuring they have separate control over their individual payload capacity and flexibility. Eutelsat will lease 50% of the capacity of this satellite under the name Flexsat Asia.
Airbus will design and build the satellite, as well as supply ground control segment components. Airbus anticipates delivering the satellite in 2027.
