Yangwang 1, 2

Yangwang 1 []

Yangwang 1 was developed by Shenzhen Aerospace Dongfanghong Satellite Co., Ltd for Origin Space Co., Ltd. It is the first commercial astronomical satellite in the optical band in China, carrying visible light and ultraviolet wide field of view telescope payload.

The satellite primarily conducts multiband observations of asteroid targets, achieve asteroid discovery targets, orbital determination, photometry, etc., and conduct in-depth research on asteroid resources. At the same time, they use wide-field telescopes to achieve efficient multiband survey observations and conduct ultraviolet astronomical observation and research on related astronomical phenomena.

Yangwang 2, lost in a launch failure in late 2024, is assumed to be similar.
