My fic is off to beta! \o/ It's basically a companion to A Cabin in the Sky which I posted last year. There they remembered their time at the cabin and it interspersed with their memories of how they actually got together in RL, so this is the telling of what happened in the real world a few years later. It's post series, a time I've been too afraid to look at lest I am far too removed from their voices, so I am putting on my big person pants here. I really hope it's ok as Cabin is still getting regular attention on Ao3.

Is anyone listening/watching Michael's podcast 'A Full Circle'? I tried to watch what I think was the first episode, and I got about an hour in, but it was so dull! (the cat notwithstanding) I believe his co-host is from Gateworld? It just felt a little iffy how many times the guy mentioned he lives with his mother, and I felt some of the questions fell into ick territory also. I understand they will be doing a sort of rewatch/commentary of sorts on the actual episodes, so maybe that will be a nice little trip back in time?

I also understand at some point Michael is/will be discussing his thoughts on the Gero reboot cancellation too. I... don't hate me... I don't mind one bit it was cancelled. I hated the storyline they came up with. Firstly, it smacks of the 2009 Trek reboot with Spock, and secondly, I don't give a hoot about folks in an alternate reality setting up a gate program. So? Were they just going to head off and encounter all the same baddies and such (will they have alt!reality facial hair too?), retell the same stories (Atlantis did it), and when it gets too hard, Daniel is their deus ex machina? Nope. I am actually excited to see what Jac Schaeffer will bring to the table, and apologies for the gender politics, but Stargate has desperately needed female voices for a loooong time. Sorry but I don't want more naked RepliCarter, rape stones, and Gary-McKay-Stu self inserts thank you, and if they truly want a greater audience outside of us OG's that shit will not fly today. I think the Stargate-verse still holds so much potential for storytelling, and the gate was/is a means of bringing peoples together from all over the galaxy and beyond. With Trek wrapping up in a near future, I think we need that. 

Anywho, I am back on the fan art bandwagon, and will have some SG-1 icons up soonish. Just a few months off and I am out of practice.
