Ello all, I'm after a bit of advice about MP3 recorders. I'm off travelling in a few weeks and I've had this idea to make a collection of 5 minute soundscapes from various places; streets in Bali, the outback at night, drinking at the OFS, etc. Anyone know what the best device for this kinda project would be? Obviously I'm not going to be able to download anything onto my pc for 4 months so it'll need a fair bit of storage/battery life and sound quality is a must. Any ideas?
Well, browsing one of the LJ communities, I came across someone wanting to record using their computer. I gave details of my recording setup and said I would post one of my early recording efforts. Here is the link to the recording:
A Creative E-MU 0404 sound board. $99.00 (so simple, I installed it) Sound board includes S/W, Patchmix DSP with 500 effects presets. Cubasis VST-4 multitrack recording/editing. Wavelab Lite. Analog/digital/optical in-out. This system can also handle MIDI in-out.
Behringer UB802 Mixer $50.00
2-AKG D-1000 mikes. These mikes are no longer available, but comparable mikes will cost $50-70.00 each.
Hi, I'd like to record my college lectures, but I don't feel like setting up my laptop to do it.
I know about the digital voice recorders, and the Olympus Ds-2 seems to be well reviewed, but I was wondering if any of you knew of devices that can record and serve a different function as well (ie. MP3 players, cell phones).
I'd prefer to buy a cell phone with a recording feature over an MP3 player, since I was looking to buy a cell phone anyways.
