Hi everyone, hope you had a great Christmas without too many cares.
Sadly, sometimes Christmas is far from care-free, with the costs and stresses of getting supplies getting some people down that they can almost forget it is a time to celebrate. I'm happy to tell you that there IS a solution.
From the bottom of my heart, I can recommend the Chrisco Christmas hamper club...

With a little bit of planning, you can spend the year paying off supplies little by little. You will hardly notice that the money has gone each week, but come Christmas time, it will all add up to a wonderful hamper of Christmas goods being delievered to your house. The sooner you order and start paying, the smaller your weekly/fortnightly/mothly (whatever suits you best) payments will be.
The full range of hamper choices can be viewed online, or you can request a catalogue by calling 1800 28 28 28.
It may sound like a well-worn advertising slogan, but never a truer word was spoken when they say you can save for a magical Christmas with Chrisco.
I am not a troll, nor do I make any profit from posting this. I simply believe in this program, and am sure you will too if you give it a go.

| Farscape returns to Channel 9 |
[05 Apr 2006|10:59am] |
|
From Stargate News Australia:
"In the wee hours of this morning and in an exchange of emails with scifi fan Steven, he alerted us to the fact that Farscape will be returning to Channel Nine on Wednesday 12 April 2006 at, wait for it, 0200hrs 2am, yes that's right 2 oclock in the morning (for some reason unknown to us the TV Guides around Australia end the TV day at 0600hrs 6am instead of Midnight), so it'll have to be a LP or Ep VCR job."
Interesting. Pity I've had the DVDs for years now. However, it'll give me something to sit in front of in a couple of weeks when I'm doing middle of the night feeds once again ;-)
EDIT: Apparently this is now TUESDAY morning at 2am not WEDNESDAY morning as first stated. That's Tuesday April 11th, NOT Wednesday April 12th as first stated.

| TaScape 2006 |
[18 Oct 2005|03:46pm] |
Sorry for posting this on a place that's not entirely FAM-related, but since our board's down and the mailing list is unreliable when it comes to bouncing people off, this seems as good a way as any to get word out.
For those who don't know, every year in January (this year Sat 14/Sun 15) the Farscape Aussie Mafia hold an event called TaScape in Maroubra, Sydney. Usually it involves a bus trip to locations at which Farscape was filmed on the Saturday, and a BBQ to which cast and crew are invited on the Sunday, with lots of other fun happenings in between. For those who want more information, feel free to email me or comment to this post.
The point of my post, however, is about room bookings. (Like I say, FAM admin stuff which should be somewhere that's currently not onine - sorry.)
If you would like to book accommodation at the Sands Hotel for TaScape 2006 please email mgfbec AT gmail DOT com NOW, or as soon as you can ( with the following info:Collapse )
As usual we have the whole hotel booked for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, and I will simply be allocating people to rooms for those nights. However, if you want to secure a room for any night before or after that (many people stay for the Monday, for example) you MUST email me as soon as possible to guarantee yourselves a room, as I have to book these separately. The hotel is already taking bookings from the general public for days outside of those booked by us.
Please do not contact the hotel for bookings - all bookings go to mgfbec AT gmail DOT com (which is me, btw.)
Sorry for the somewhat off-topic post. (If you know anyone who's interested in TaScape and isn't in this comm, please pass the message on.)
Cheers, Reb (formerly reblog, if anyone's wondering.)

| Farscape: TPKW -- DVD release |
[08 Jun 2005|03:22pm] |

Today I bought the Region 4 release of Farscape: The Peacekeeper War. Paid $19.98 for it which is somewhat of a bargain considering RRP is $24.95 .... Personally I think $24.95 is a rip-off for something with no special features ('scene selection' is NOT a special feature) and once again no subtitles (my hearing quite poor, and I miss stuff especially in the quiet parts of a movie).
I couldn't believe when I opened the JB HiFi catalogue on the weekend and saw PKW actually advertised in their catalogue! I was like "WHOA!" and then I saw the price. 48c more than the cheapest I could find it online, and I wouldn't have to wait for it to be mailed to me. Definitely worth the extra 48c....

Prometheus Unbound is scheduled to air tonight at 9.40pm (in Sydney at least), although, since SEVEN advertised it last week as well & then played Starship Troopers instead, I'll take it with a grain of salt ;)
Just thought I'd mention it, just in case SEVEN has finally decided to pull their finger out ;)

Wayne Pygram is to play Governor Tarkin in Star Wars Episode 3. Yay! It's sure to make the movie watchable at least for those scenes :-) Even the worst script in the world couldn't hide Wayne's enormous talent. Nice to see he's gotten some big-time paid work :-D
