Fun with Filters II

I'm sorry I'm not very communicative lately...

but here's more Fun with Filters.
an easy but pretty background effect.

step 01

- make a new document
(I usually start with 500x500 for smallish things, but any size is fine, really)
- reset the colors to black and white (hit D)
- use Filter - Render - Clouds

step 02

- use Filter - Artistic - Plastic Wraps with the following settings:
Highlight Strength: 9
Detail: 1
Smoothness: 15

- Duplicate the layer (ctrl + J) and set it on Blending Mode Overlay

step 03

- make a new layer, merge-copy the whole pic and paste it into this new layer
(or just press ctrl+shift+alt+E)
- set it on Blending Mode Pinlight
- go to Edit - Transform - Flip Horizontal

- copy the layer on top (ctrl+J)
- go to Edit - Transform - Flip Vertical

step 04

- make a new layer, merge-copy the whole pic and paste it into this new layer
(or just press ctrl+shift+alt+E)
- set it on Blending Mode Softlight
(if you want to intensify the effect use Overlay instead)
- user Filter - Artistic - Paint Daubs with the following settings:
Brush size: 2
Sharpness: 5
Brush Type: sparkle
(one of my fave filters for sparkling things up, btw)

step 05

- make a new layer on top and fill it with any color you like,
go for something light though (here I used: #FED3A4)
- set it on Blending Mode Screen
- make another layer and fill it with any color you like,
go for something similar to the previous though (here I used: #FFEC7F)
- set it on Blending Mode Multiply and lower the opacity to 20%

that's it for today. it can be used as a base for more complex textures or as a background just as it is.
