Backstreet Boys on Geocities
If you haven't heard, Geocities is closing on October 26, 2009. Geocities has played an important role in the history of the Backstreet Boys fandom. On Fan History Wiki, we want to help chronicle the history of this fandom on Geocities before it is lost forever. We'd love to have you involved. We've created some stub articles at Backstreet Boys fansites on Geocities. There isn't much there, especially when you think about the whole of Geocities and how important Geocities was to the Backstreet Boys fandom. We'd really want to see the few existing articles improved to give a better idea of what role they played early in the fandom's history and for the fandom's history off LiveJournal. Just click edit, write in relevant information and then click save. You can't screw it up. (It's a wiki. Things are incredibily easy to fix if you're worried.) If you're feeling really helpful, please use Template:fansitesgeocities to create new articles so that we can get the history of more Geocitie's Backstreet Boys fansites saved. Even if you aren't editing, please pass the word along to others in the fandom. Ask them to help us. Ask them to visit Geocities to just save those sites on their hard drives. And sat two rows behind Brian at a charity basketball game. I tried to get his attention the entire time, but I just sat there and lived with taking pictures of the back of his head the entire game...:-D I also chased Brian's bus across the state of Pennsylvania after a show in Hershey. I'm what they call a trifle bit crazy...but I have fun doing it. Can't wait for them to start touring again to start chasing them all over again. UPDATE: Chased Brian's bus across Pennsylvania again. With AJ's bus behind us. And Howie's bus behind that. We followed them from Hershey, Pa to Philadelphia, Pa. We watched Brian walk into the hotel. And I met AJ, at 1:04am on August 13, 2005, I am 2/5 of the way through the group. I just have to meet Kevin, Howie and Brian. And I need AJ's autograph. I have my picture though. :-) I'm a happy girl. :-) On November 1, 2008, I finally had my dream come true, I meet Nick, Howie, AJ and Brian during the soundcheck and meet n greet before the concert in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Name:Kristy Age: 21 Location: upstate NY, a few miles from Buffalo Favorite Backstreet Boy(s): it used to be Nick....but i've got a thing for AJ now Favorite Backstreet Boys Song: "10,000 Promises", "That's The Way I Like It", and "The Call" Other: i've been to 4 BSB shows. I talked to AJ on the phone at one of the show in Ohio....lol. long story short, my boyfriend went down the wrong way to park and he saw him having a cigarette and raced over to him and i ironically called while waiting in line to be seated for food, and AJ started talking to me lol. he was so nice! got his autograph too. i also was about 5 feet away from Brian and Kevin at the PA show...didn't get any autographs tho. i've been a fan for about 9 years now, very happy that they're back! |
