"Sometimes you don't need a goal in life, you don't need to know the big picture. you just need to know what you're going to do next!" - Sophie Kinsella
Once upon a time I travelled a lot. I left town at least once a week, left the state at least once a month, and left the country at least a couple of times a year... now I've turned into a homebody - guess that's what having a baby does to a person! I still get a decent amount of travel in, though nowhere near as much as I did before.
I work a lot, but then I'm one of those strange people that enjoys their jobs... so I suppose that's an okay thing.
I live in the middle of BFE Iowa, we've finally purchased a home and are settling down.
I am miserable at updating my journal. Maybe someday I'll be able to change that line in my profile here. Until then, my workaholic, family-aholic and occassional travelaholic life sometimes get in the way of that. I go in phases. My last phase of not updating lasted >3 years. If you're my LJ friend, and you want to stay friends, I recommend you also be my facebook friend as well.
I'm not married, but you'll hear me speak often of my other half. You'll also hear me speak often of how much I despise the "when are you getting married" question. We've been together for 3 years (okay, it's more than 3 years, it's more like 10... but I keep saying 3 because it's my favorite number and 10 just sounds like far too long of a time for someone who formerly had problems with commitment).
I have a little girl. She's the light of my life - I never realized how much love you could have for a person until she came along! Most of my updates going forward will likely be about her. We got extremely lucky with her, she's a gorgeous little girl and has rarely given us any problems at all - she took to nursing really well, she slept through the night 10 hours by the time she was 2.5 months old, she eats everything in sight, gave up her bottle and switched to a sippy cup without skipping a beat... she was just generally a really, super easy baby, and although I complain, her toddler and preschool years were also quite easy by comparison to most other kids - which is good, because those who know me know that I'm not very patient, although I'm learning...
I think that's probably enough for an intro... anything more you'll be able to learn through my journal :)
