Hello my dears! I just wanted to plug a Beatles-related community of mine here, see if some of you might be interested.
(xposted, sorry!)

Nothing Is Real is a Beatles role play community! It partly deals with mature themes, which is why we are friends only, but you can of course join just to read the threads. We are open to gen, het and slash. AUs are accepted, but not original characters. The game is mostly centred around the Beatles but any character even loosely connected with the 60s or 70s art scene is welcome, really.

It's a 'no strings attached' sort of role play which basically means that you can apply for as many characters as you want, Beatles, Beatles wives or friends and there can be as many players as we want, even for the same characters. You can also choose your time and space span, build it up through several threads or jump from one thing to the other freely. It fact it isn't a well-built rp as much as a den, a place for you to meet other role players and start threads freely with the ones you like.

If you are interested in role playing in the Beatles universe, don't be scared to have a look around at the rules and introduction posts, and message me if you have any questions! Role playing is pretty much like reading/writing fan-fiction, except that you do it with one or several other people, which is always good fun, unexpected and stimulating. Hope to see you around!

Another Beatles song was performed last night on "Glee"!!!   :D   This episode's theme was on spirituality and what different people believe, but the main storyline also was that Kurt's (Chris Colfer) father had a heart attack and went into a coma and the kids and teachers were trying to help Kurt through it.  It was hard at first since Kurt in an atheist, but he later thanked them all for thinking of his father and him and shows that Kurt still believes in love and the goodness people share.  Later in the episode Kurt's father Burt finally did wake up.   :D

It was a very emotional episode and Kurt sang a song to thank his friends and he said he related the song to the love he has for his father and how when Kurt's mother died his dad held his hand at the funeral and promised he would always be there for him.  The song ended up being a slowed down, and in my opinion, beautiful version of The Beatles "I Want to Hold Your Hand"!!!   <3   During Kurt singing the song, they even showed flashback scenes of Kurt and Burt and happy moments the father and son shared.  I never thought about the song relating to a parent/child relationship from the child's point of view, but it totally worked and had me in tears.  :(  Such a moving scene!!!   :D

You can watch the full scene here:

I was watching "Mad Men" last night and I totally about freaked out!!! LOL   :D   They actually had a storyline I had long wondered about and the main character Don Draper (Jon Hamm) got tickets to take his daughter Sally to see her favorite band The Beatles perform at Shea Stadium!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   :D

"Mad Men" uses historical events in the episode as another storyline and a way for us to figure out when the episode takes place.  So this episode of Season 4 "Hand and Knees" took place that week in August leading up to the concert in 1965.   ;)

The tickets were late and it parralled another storyline about Don and worrying that his huge secret and one of the show's main storylines was going to be found out.  But luckily everything worked out!!!   :D

It was such a cute scene when Sally, whose 10 in the show and in real life, found out and was screaming her head off and her mother Betty (January Jones) looked freaked out and Don had to hold the phone away from his ear!!! LOL   :D   But Sally was overjoyed and just kept thanking her dad. LOL   :D   So in the "Mad Men" universe Don and Sally both were at the Shea Stadium concert.   ;)

And that's not all, at the end up the episode Don got the tickets finally and layed them on his desk and we saw the image of the Fab Four staring back up at him as he looked at them and relief hit about his secret not being exposed and that's when we heard an instrumental version of "Do You Want to Know a Secret" play!!!  :D  The head creator and writer Matt Weiner uses music at the end of each episode to help tell what had just happened and that song was just a PERFECT choice!!!   :D

Also, didn't know if you all know, but Paul actually watches this show and the cast/crew and Matt actually know it.   ;)

Anyone who likes Doctor Who, should play the DW game in June because there's a Beatles reference in it:

For example, before the duo arrive in London the Doctor asks Amy which Beatle she'd most like to meet. When she replies "John or Paul", he asks why no one ever says Ringo. "There's no such thing as a sexy drummer," is her damning response.

Poor Ringo. Amy is still one of my favourite companions of the Doctor.

Glee

Tonight on FOX's show Glee they will be covering "Hello Goodbye".  Here is the full version of the song by the cast and I think they did an amazing job!!!  :D  I LOVE this cover!!!  :D  I can't wait to see how they perform the song on the show!!! :D

Update: During the show's performance scene the boys wore early 60s style Beatles suits!!! :D

Honestly, I would love to see Glee do a full tribute episode next season with The Beatles like they are doing with Madonna this season.  This is one of few times I love a cover version and I think this cast could do an amazing job with the songs.

Also the cast of Glee did sing John's "Imagine" with a deaf choir as well and here is the performance from that episode last fall.  This performance was SO moving!!! <3

Just was watching The Simpsons and they had another Beatles reference!!! :D  This time Mr. Burns was sent to prison and while he was there joined the Springfield Prison's Beatles tribute band!!! LOL  :D  I wasn't able to tell which Beatle Mr. Burns was supposed to be.   Mr. Burns was Ringo was their tribute band was called The Stab Four!!! LOL  :D

Then during the commericals they aired the trailer for "Dinner for Schmucks" starting Paul Rudd and Steve Carell and during one scene Steve's character Barry tells Paul's character Tim that he was inspired by John Lennon's song "Imagine" and the lyrics "You May Say I'm a Dreamer, but I'm not".  Then Tim finishes with "the only one."  However, Barry says that isn't the line and fully believes he has the lyrics right.  LOL  :D

During last night's episode of How I Met Your Mother, there was a flashback scene to the mid 90s when Ted, Marshall, and Lily were all in college.  Marshall (Jason Segal) was wearing a shirt that said "All You Need is Love" on it.
