This is a community for Bleach (anime/manga) fanwork based on Shakespearean quotes. The main character, Kurosaki Ichigo, is a fan of Shakespeare, and, well, Shakespeare is always appropriate.
The rules are as follows:
1. All fanfics/fanart/fanwork must be based on, incorporate, or reference a Shakespearean quote/scene/play/sonnet. Aside from that, anything goes!
2. Please place all fanfics longer than a one-sentence drabble and all pictures behind lj-cuts.
3. All fanfics or fanart with graphic sexual content must be marked accordingly (Let's use an "[A]" for "Adult" since the MPAA is cracking down on the conventional rating system).
4. All Shakespearean references must be noted in the entry to ensure that all posts are on-topic. In instances of more than one Shakespearean reference per 'fic, just mentioning one will be fine.
5. All characters and pairings are welcome. AUs are also fine. Please be respectful of others. Concrit is fine (unless the poster doesn't want any) but no bashing or personal attacks will be tolerated (Duh).
6. No newbie intro posts unless it contains an offering for the community. Otherwise, let's just all assume we know each other already. =)
7. Discussion on references or parallels in Bleach to Shakespearean work is okay - just mark it accordingly. Just, uh, put some actual thought into the post (i.e. "I think Bleach is totally like Macbeth!" = Please give some examples.)
8. Please tag your posts with the play/sonnet/whatever being referenced so other members of the community will be able to locate your fanwork more easily.
9. Please be courteous and warn for major spoilers.
10. New optional challenges will be issued bi-weekly. Feel free to join in!
Thanks! ^____^
Some places to find Shakespearean quotes or information:
Shakespeare Online Pretty much everything and then some.
Shakespeare Resource Center Here's a nice list of quotes.
Another good list
All great quotes decided to get in on the action I especially like their Insult Quotes
All Shakespeare This list is still helpful to a certain extent, but they've recently changed their policies and begun charging for services.
The Complete Works of William Shakespeare - Well, minus the sonnets and poetry.
The Plays of William Shakespeare - Lots of info, a little hard to navigate.
The amazing web site of Shakespeare's Sonnets - A really good site for in-depth info and commentary on the sonnets.
Other Bleach communities:
soul_society - Bleach manga
kurosaki_clinic - Bleach fanwork
bleach_fact - Bleach-related questions
bleach_exchange - Bleach Secret Santa Exchange
