Will Power is working well today. I've had a couple of breaks (for breakfast and for a bounce of the minitrampoline because I was feeling fidgety) but I have got lots done. As some of you know, I've struggled a little when working at home (as I do once or twice a week), and often have to make up my procrastination time by working late. However, today seems to be going really well. After a non-achieving weekend, I am feeling so much better about things. Now if only I can keep this up.

Ugh ugh ugh

I've just opened a bag of raisins (jumbo juicy mixed raisins for snacking, lunchboxes and picnics) and plunged my hand in only to discover the inside of the bag is revoltingly sticky...I'd forgotton raisins ooze.

Yes, once more I have a deadline and I'm not concentrating. Maybe posting my shame on lj will work - it did last time...
After that rant last week, I pulled myself together and actually got some work done - more in the last hour and a half than I did in the previous four, so I didn't feel quite as bad by the time I got home.

My current mission is to find myself somewhere to live in Vancouver. I'm trying to do this over the internet, and am having fun trying to decide who sounds the least like an axe murderer.

I have the choice between A - short email, few details, nice area, closer to the downtown bit and a reasonable distance from UBC; B - very friendly person, cheap, about 40 mins by bus from UBC, C - great facilities, slightly nearer, sharing with a male pg, and D - more expensive and states in capitals "NO PETS, NO SMOKING, NO PARTIES". This puts me off, not because I was thinking of having any of the following, but because the guy sounds a tad dictatorial...

Tricky...

But I don't care because I get to go to vancouver and I am soo soo soooooooo excited!

V minus ten days and counting...

Why oh why...

Why do I do this? I sit in the library, I plan to work, I start things, but then I get distracted and the next thing I know is that time has flown and I've got nothing done. It's frustrating and I and so disappointed in myself. I need a good healthy dose of willpower!

On a happier note, I got my Government Indemnity application for the forthcoming exhibition submitted and a big weight has lifted. Now just a 4-5000 word essay to write, transport for the exhibition to organise, accomodation in Vancouver to sort out, commercial insurance to book...

Helena Merrick never feels hugely maternal to me, but in this I can imagine she'd been driven to distraction by first worry and then by a constantly grumbling Patrick. If this had been going on for…

I really enjoyed this. As a confirmed Josephine Tey fan (and Daughter of Time is my very favourite) I became, like Patrick a Richard III apologist after reading it, so this all seems extremely…

I loved this, especially Jon's part in it - it's lovely to see more of him, and their friendship.

I really enjoyed this - Jon is an interesting character, despite figuring so briefly in the books, and this is a lovely glimpse of him and Patrick...

And can I say that I love your Cabin Pressure…

I enjoyed this very much. We both seem to be interested in the theme of Patrick not being quite honest with Nicola, intentionally or otherwise!
I haven't read any Josephine Tey but I now intend to…
