i can't wait.

i read the walking dead vol. 11 over the weekend. this series continues to amaze me at how dark it can go. every time i think they can't go any further i am proven wrong. i feel like i'm watching lost; they keep whittling the core group down. O_o  i am really excited to see how durabont/amc turn this into a series.

last night i finished locke & key vol 2: head games. i thought the first trade was good, but this second one really impressed me. i'm really interested to see where this is going and how all the different keys work. joe hill, keep up the good work.  also, the mentally impaired kid who talks in military speak is AWESOME BEYOND WORDS. oh, rufus.

lastly, i recently discovered the awesome that is dmz. is anyone else reading this? i read the first two trades and there should be three more waiting for me when i get home tonight. i'm REALLY loving this. it's sad and beautiful and horrible and feels scarily realistic to a dork like me. this is the first series i've read in a loooong time that i think i might love as much as i loved y: the last man. fingers crossed!

the good

1. i saw the lovely and talented hiyacynthlast weekend. she was awesome and sweet and adorable. bonus: her and her boyfriend are cuter than tiny chocolate puppies frolicking on rainbows.

2. insult contests. tk and i had great fun trying to top each other's level of grossness during brunch last sunday. he called me a milk-mouthed booger (especially terrifying as i hate milk) and i called him a booger-butted goober. shobi made us leave because he was "embarassed" or something. what a sissy baby! of course tk and i called him names all the way home. good times.

3. my inlaws visited last week. they are REALLY awesome.

4. ALMOST TIME FOR NEW SPN AND CM EPS!!!

the bad

1. tk started SIXTH GRADE. O_O *staggered* he hates it of course. this is because he hates school in general. ( in which i wangst about tkCollapse )
2. next thursday we go to madison to get tk's right cast off, switch the cast on his left leg and remove the pins in his toes. he's going to awake for this and i don't think it's going to go well. he HATES getting casts off as he's always certain the saw is going to cut his leg off. and i'm afraid the pins are going to hurt coming out. has anyone has pins removed? is it horrible? i asked that he be given valium so the doctor gave me two syringes of it. we'll see who takes it first, him or me.

3. i have a pimple by my mouth that looks like a cold sore. now i look like (more of) a junkie crackwhore than usual.

attn: x-philes!

guys, there's a new x-files comic. i just got it today and it's reeeeally good (imo). it takes place during the series timeline and i thought it was full of yay. so far there's only the one issue but it sounds like wildstorm (the publisher) is hoping to publish more issues.

and since i'm talking about comics can i just say a resounding HOLY CRAP to the latest volume of the walking dead?
