12:37 am [theninji]	Hack the Planet August 8th OTTAWA ONTARIO This is a party happening in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It's going to be a 3-room, All-night Rave! For more info please see www.ottawaraves.com/hacktheplanet. Mark your attendance here (facebook) http://www.facebook.com/event.php?ei...7484838&ref=ts This is our world now: the world of electronics and sound, the cry of the crossfader and the beauty of the beat. We make use of the noises existing inside our heads and out, communing in each other’s physical and digital presence. With synths doing our screaming and bass anchored to our hearts we ache for more. More than the nine to five and daily commute, more than televised idols and survivors, more than the apathy and despair of the daily headlines and bountiful bureaucracy. We are not dangerous criminals or troublemaking lunatics. We are human beings collectively finding comfort and community through the tools available to us in this information age. Before police and governments, before bylaws and cities, before recorded time there was dance. From humanity's start to the world's end there will always be dancing. We would part with it with the same ease we would give up eating and breathing. We have been and again will be pressured, assailed, and put through troubling times, but you cannot stop the sound, joy, and dedication to pursue it that exists in us all. Ours is a global civilization; a cultural and musical milestone for the twenty-first century. We will not have our experiences limited by availability. We will dance, and we will not stop until the last record spins. We will deconstruct the vision of our parents' generation and out of it create spaces for ourselves. We will not close our minds with ideology. We will not dismiss the extraordinary. We will judge by actions, not appearances. We will seek out new experiences and revel in them. We will use technology -- not be used by it. We will break the system. We will Hack the Planet. 01# Featuring: 02# ---------------------------------------- ------------- 03# 04# -Over 25 artists, including 05# Multiple international artists and 06# THREE Live PA artists playing brand new tunes! 07# 08# -THREE ROOMS 09# 10# -THREE ROOMS 11# 12# -HOLY SHIT, THREE ROOMS 13# 14# -Comfy couches in the chill room 15# 16# -RaEV 17# 18# -AMAZING deco, inlcuding techno-sculpture by Tic Toc 19# Tom (www.tictoctom.com). 20# -Interactive decorations and playspaces 21# 22# -An exciting shuttle bus ride to an out of town 23# location in the National Capital Region 24# 25# -A lineup with a whopping 17 genres of music 26# 27# -Over 60,000 watts of sound and lights! 28# -LASERS! 11:38 am [angstiesuess]	Please Support Hello everyone I am a new member to this community and I am asking for your letters of support so we can let our government know we as citizens will not stand for these actions against the rave scene. Please send your e-mail support letters to raverworldwideunited@yahoo.com "Last year our supporters helped raise attention to an outrageous abuse of power in Racine, Wisconsin, where hundreds of music fans were ticketed for being in a crowded nightclub where a few people used drugs. Those ticketed had no drugs on them. The police didn’t even have any evidence that they had ever used drugs. Their only “crime” was dancing at a nightclub where other people who used drugs were arrested. Although only three drug arrests were made, police issued citations to 445 innocent attendees with a penalty of $968 each for being "patrons of a disorderly house." Thanks to a public outcry from people like you, work by the Drug Policy Alliance, and an ACLU lawsuit, the citations were ultimately dismissed. Now, it has happened again; this time in Flint, Michigan. On Saturday the local police raided a popular nightclub, Club What’s Next, and ticketed hundreds of music fans who were attending a dance night known as “Getting Lucky” (the DJs included Halluci-Nate, Sparkimus Prime, White Rabbit, Captain Cheddar and California's Dj Primo.) While some people were arrested for possessing or selling illegal drugs, most people were ticketed for “frequenting a drug establishment,” a misdemeanor offense. That’s right. In Flint, Michigan (and many other cities) if you go out dancing on a Saturday night and the police happen to arrest other people at the club for drugs, you could be charged with a drug crime even though you had nothing to do with drugs. These innocent party-goers now face up to 90 days in jail and a $500 fine. They also face a criminal record with all the legal and social barriers that brings. Several people that were at the club that night told us club-goers were also subjected to strip searches, including full cavity searches – even though they had nothing to do with drugs. Imagine the police walking into your favorite bar or nightclub and subjecting you to a strip search for no reason! Imagine spending 90 days in jail or paying a $500 fine for dancing!" I only ask for your support in this because our government is adding this to the list of things we as a free society can no longer do without predudice. Please send you support letters to me at raverworldwideunited@yahoo.com so we can let the government know that we as Americans will not stand for this. This is happening to ravers right now even as i write this. It could very well happen to you at your bar or club, lets take a stand angainst this injustice. Thanks Current Mood: aggravated (Comment on this)

12:47 am [chemicaleden]	Michigan Ravers and others I know this is a state side problem but if you kids know any Michigan party kids please bring this to their attention or post it in your own journals to get the word out. As a Michigan native and living in Toronto right now it hits kinda close to home so any help would be great. Come on now we all know Michigan is the closest thing America is gonna get to Canada. But totally not as cool. http://www.mlive.com/news/fljournal/index.ssf?/base/news-27/1111508580310650.xml If you know someone or are in the Michigan party scene and you were at club whats next in Flint for the party "Getting Lucky" Please send a copy of your ticket or other charges to this E-mail address. msegesta@sbcglobal.net If you were there and saw drug planting on party goers by the police please inform the E-mail adress above or isntant message the name rabddbit on AIM. It is vital that we not allow the Flint police to bully us and try and railroad us around to the point where we forget what our rights are. Club Whats Next is a legal club and for those of you who were there some of you for the FIRST time who recived the frequenting a drug house ticket its important that you see that this is a far reach from the truth and mockery of justice to the furthest extent. Please, by all means, make people aware of the atrocity that has taken place. Post this in your own journals because this isnt just about Michigan ravers, or the 130 people there that night, its about us all and our rights. Current Mood: angry (Comment on this)
