Orenda and a bunch of people that played in her band for the Invisible Ones tour (Adrianne Verhoeven, Dan McCarthy, Steve Bartolomei, Ryan Fox, and Corey Broman) have formed a band called Art in Manila. The songs over on their myspace sound pretty fantastic. They're playing a show in Omaha tonight at the Pizza Shoppe and a couple during SXSW. So no need for this comm to be so quiet. Also, I've got a couple shots of Orenda from when she opened for Tilly a year or two ago which I'll try to post soon if anyone's interested.

There is a discussion about Orenda and Maria going over on the SCWB
http://www.saddle-creek.com/webboard/viewtopic.php?t=69315
for those who don't want to check or didn't check yet many people seem to prefer Maria's songwriting because she isn't as pretentious or patronising as Orenda. Now I can't see anything patronising in her songs, or in her genuine interest for spirituality and Haiti. But many people seem to think she's only a spoiled white woman with a fancy for exotic cultures. To me her intentions seem pure and I think she's really good at conveying her points musically and lyrically. But then again I AM a spoiled white woman myself. Anyway my thoughts about this are already posted on the other forum, if you want to check.
