As an INTP, I seem to have problems keeping my friends' attention when they come over, Because my ENFP sister sort of "steals" them because of her extravertedness.  They spend the whole day with her and ignore me.  She says that she can't help that my friends would rather hang out with her. It's not often that I invite a friend over and I can't entertain with my sister around, especially at birthdays.  How do I deal with her?

the impossibility of existentially separating observer and observed. [19 Mar 2006|05:00pm]

I found this link by turns, very interesting and very funny. Quite long, but worth the read.

This site appeals to my sense of keeping everything in perspective.

Any one else? [14 Feb 2006|04:57pm]

I seem to lack the thing that enables most people, when they first begin to interact, to do so smoothly. I seem to be some how stalled. With out the opportunity to have a full conversation with someone I lack the report that I require in order to banter with them. I feel like I am constantly missing the joke as all those around me laugh together and interact so comfortably. I have no way to penetrate that invisible barrier. With out the chance to explain my self I am constantly aware that what I may say could be taken the wrong way. With people I have no further need to interact with I am ok (I don’t really care what they think anyway; people whom I can interact with one on one are usually fantastic - i’ve even made a few good friends this way. It is when people form groups and I have no way to interact with one and not the others that I struggle; I feel unnecessary - I know that their interaction doesn't need my input and will continue regardless. So I am left with the impression that I’ve witnessed a moment between two or three of them yet am unable to leave graciously or join. Regardless of my reactions I feel silly and conspicuous. No wonder I prefer to be alone.

Want to extend the hope that every INTP has a very good holiday season and makes the best of their new year. Anyone breaking out the black-eyed peas and cabbage? Does anyone else like that program Top Gear from the BBC with all kinds of bad-ass cars look up some episodes on Kazaa or something... its awesome.

Question.. [06 Nov 2005|02:36pm]

Hi, I realise not much has happened here for a while, and well I have a question.
Firstly the background.
.( I am all INT but borderline j/p. always been p, yet low %, recently crossed to low % j)
So I have been keeping a watch on the INTJ forum too. Very active by the way.
An INTP posed a question there regarding photography being a common interest for INTP's, and the thought that INTP's are more interested in the technical aspect then the reportage aspect. this was my reply.

*Photography has also been a interest of mine, yet as you say it is more the manipulation of light and the technical ability to capture an image the aesthetic of the image it's self. And digital manipulation has become a particular strong point.
So Yes the photomanipulation is the interest, not the journalistic aspect
Interestingly my partner is a full blown INTJ and is also a photographer. However she is much more concerned about the content of an image, it's aesthetics and what it communicates.
Interesting thought*

Any thoughts?
