Camarillo Community Theatre will be putting on "The King and I" this summer and we are seeking students who wish to act, sing, dance, sew costumes, or volunteer in any way possible!
You can also contact the theatre at 805-388-5716. We are located at 330 Skyway Drive inside the Camarillo Airport -- we look forward to seeing you there!
CSU Summer Arts offers two-week long workshops in theatre, dance, music, visual arts, creative writing, new media, and arts education. All workshops carry three units of transferable undergraduate or graduate university credit.
Summer Arts workshops are very intense, usually running 12-14 hours each day, including weekends. This structure provides a unique environment for working intimately with some of the best artists and master teachers in the world today.
The program will be located on the CSU Fresno campus this year, but students from all CSU campuses are encouraged to apply.
The Gender Public Advocacy Coalition is pleased to announce the release of its 2008 GENIUS Survey in partnership with Ernst & Young.GenderPAC works to ensure that classrooms, communities and workplaces are safe for everyone to learn, grow and succeed.
The Gender Equality National Index for Universities & Schools (GENIUS), GenderPAC’s most recent effort to end discrimination and promote awareness, encourages colleges and universities to recognize the benefits of a GenderSAFEtm campus - supportive equitable and protective for all students. Choosing to participate in GENUIS sends a strong public statement that bullying or discriminating based on the race, sex or gender of a student, faculty, or staff member is not tolerated at your institution
Fill out the survey at:www.gpac.org/GENIUS2008survey, and make sure that we have data for as many schools as possible. Your voice will help us continue to work towards a safe and welcoming environment for every student.
While we greatly appreciate the interest taken in GENIUS by students, staff and faculty at academic institutions outside of the United States, at this time GENIUS is only able to track schools based in the United States.
Can anyone tell me how it is to live in the student housing at CSUCI, I am looking into Anacapa. Is it a good way to meet people( I am a transfer student)? Is it comfortable? Do people ever party at CSUCI? It seems like there isnt much around, what do people do for fun? I am really curious about the social aspect of this school.....
I was wondering if anyone could give me the inside scoop on what CSUCI is really like? Does it live up to the things they advertise (i.e. small classes, individual attention, "student centered education," family atmosphere, etc.)? I've scoured the Internet for reviews, but being such a new campus, there's not a lot out there.
Also, does anyone have any specific reviews of the psychology and art programs?
Any comments about your experience would be greatly appreciated.
I got provisionally accepted into CSUCI. I'm interested in being a Nursing student - what have you guys heard about the nursing program? And what is CSUCI known for ie: Business, Medical, etc
Heya folks. I will be starting CSUCI in the spring in the teaching credentials program, so i thought i would say hi. Anyone have any inside scoops or fun things they wanna share? Always looking for new people to discuss things with!
So it looks like i'll be starting at CSU Chanenl islands this spring. Doesn't look like I'll be getting into the dorms and thats causing me some problems mainly because i don't have my own vehicle. And I've attempting to find a room for rent in university glen, but not having too much success with the returning of phone calls. And i'm not too familiar with the area and what I've found on the internet is not helping me too much. So my question is where is Casa Calleguas? Its listed as a stop in VISTA CSUCI to Camarillo bus route or whatever you call it, but I cannot find it on any map. if anyone can help me out in anyway it would be much appreciated. whether it be experience with that bus service, secret rooms for rent in university glen, or any useful info that will help a soon-to-be student at CSUCI that won't have a car.
New to the group, I plan on attending in the fall and wanted to hear what people have to say about the art program at CSUCI. You guys digging Channel Islands?
Hey All - My name is Justin. I'm a volunteer with NO on 85, a coalition that includes Planned Parenthood, The League of Women Voters, NARAL, ACLU and others.
In case you haven't been following it, Prop 85 is an initiative that would prohibit abortions for minors in California until 48 hours after their parents have been notified. This initiative is dangerous because it would force teens from violent or otherwise abusive homes to involve their parents. And the backers of 85, like Jim Holman and Life on the Ballot, The Traditional Values Coalition and Right to Life of central CA are the same people who want to overturn Roe v. Wade and ban abortion altogether.
Prop 85 is a dangerous and misleading initiative that threatens the health and safety of California’s most vulnerable teens and a woman’s right to choose. Please, help us convince other voters to think outside their bubble and vote NO on Prop. 85!
hey everyone...i am graduating (hopefully w/fingers crossed) this spring and plan on going into the teaching credential program. does anyone know any info about the actual program? i've read about it online, but i was wondering if anyone was currently in the program and could give me more insight....
This really should be utilized more than it is people. For shame. I thought I'd share my schdeule for the fall in hopes that others might be in those classes as well. Hell, maybe that will start a chain of others sharing classes or possibly throw in thoughts on teachers. I won't hold my breath but here it goes:
Psychological Research and Statistical Method Kimmy Kee-Rose Monday and Wednesday 10-11:50
Sensation and Perception Steven Fleisher Monday and Wednesay 12-1:15
Features of Spanish/English Terry Ballman Monday and Wednesday 1:30-2:45
Advanced Spanish Sandra Kornuc Monday and Wednesday 2-4:15
I really don't expect to find someone in the same class as me as I'm in my senior year and finishing up my spanish minor but I really just wanted to share my badical schedule. If you notice however, I have enough time to maybe eat a fruit snack between classes with one right after the other but hey, I get out just after four, beat that.
so i bet you get these all the time...im currently a junior in high school and channel islands is a "backup" school for me, but idk whether i would go to long beach or channel islands. my first choice is uci, or ucsd but they're highly competetive, but i have a couple of questions:
1.] how's the premed program at channel islands? 2.] anyone majoring in bio or spanish im still not completely sure what id prefer? 3.] how are the dorms, food, life in long beach? [i currently live in san fernando valley] 4.] anyone in the surf club or any info. that you're aware of? 5.] is getting into the women's soccer team super competetive and hard getting into. 6.] are there a lot of countries to chose from in study abroad? id love to go to argentina or anywhere in south america!
So since my last questions, i've had for this communities some things have changed so i have new questions I'm hoping someone can answer.
My friends and I decided to come up for the Discover CI day at the end of April instead of during our spring break.
Is the Comfort Inn a decent place to stay at for a weekend?
We will most likely be coming up for the entire weekend. So what are some things we should check out around there? or some places that we should eat at since we will be there all weekend?
I'm looking to transfer to Channel Islands Spring 2007 from San Diego. I and a couple of friends that are also looking to transfer are planning on visiting in April to check the campus out and talk to counselors. We will only be in Channel islands for a couple of days at most. What are some things that a prospective student should check out while visiting the school? Are there any must do things that we have to do while visiting?
Hey everyone. I just found out I was accepted as a transfer student for the Spring semester. I really really really want to live in student housing, but my friend that goes to CSUCI told me my chances are slim. I live about 2 1/2 hours away in San Diego, and I'm so excited to get out of here. I just don't want to live in an appartment..:/ Anyone think I'll still be able to get in?
Also....I am curious to see what the dorms look like, so any pictures would be awesome :)
There is a new "Add Schools" function on LJ. I think it might be a good idea for the moderator of this community to add this to the userinfo, as well as everyone who's IN this community. That way, if anyone's looking for this or anyone from CSUCI who has an lj, they'd be easy to find. :)
So Thursday night 2 of my friends and I went to the hospital hospital part of the campus, above the morgue, cause we wanted to go into the morgue...we found our way downstairs but we didn't see the pull out trays where they put the bodies, so does anyone know where that is? like how to get to it? because I want to see it before they blow up the building...also, there is a chimeny in the building, did they have their own creamatory (sp?) there? and if they did...do u know how to get there too? if so comment back please!!!
