Hey! So... is anybody here anymore?
I wanted to share a list of festivals going on in the area this spring.
50 festivals to look forward to this spring, in the Dallas/Ft Worth area...
Check 'em out... and bring it on, DFW...

I'm trying to get more likes for the Wholehearted Writing page on Facebook. So while this isn't a *blatant* advertisement... in many ways, it is just that. My intention is to grow the group into a worldwide support network for writers.
Right now, I'm posting writing-related quotes and inspirational images (with writing-related topics) on the page. Once we reach 100 likes, I'll start posting challenges and questions specifically designed to get you thinking about writing and yes... writing!
So... that being said--
Are you a writer? Are you interested in writing, but not sure how to start? Need a boost? Or maybe you're struggling with projects, and you need some inspiration, challenges, and thought-provoking questions? Maybe you just need to try something different, so you can approach your projects from a different viewpoint?
Check out Wholehearted Writing...
Also-- I am posting this to the DFW community specifically because we do have a writing practice group that meets twice a month in Richardson, and we'd love to have a few more members. Meetings are scheduled as Events and I always post them to the timeline on the group page. They are public, but you have to RSVP yes to get the address (it's someone's home).
So, please check out the page, and if you're inclined... like it.

I went to a Halloween party held at the parking lot of a neighboring church in Oak Cliff, Dallas. Here's the video. If the video can't be seen please let me know, youtube has been silly about trying to block it for the song used. If it can't be shown I will try to edit it and use something else to update this post, thanks.

This weekend is Cottonwood Art Festival in Richardson. It's at Cottonwood park, off Belt Line and Coit.
Entrance is FREE, and this is a very competitive festival to get into, these days... artists from around the country try to gain entry, anywhere from 800 or more and about 230 are typically selected. Top-notch artists, always!!
Also, you can bring your (well-behaved) dog. They have food and music, too.
(I don't work for them or anything, I've just been attending this festival since I was a kid, and it's really evolved over the years.)

There will be an arts display at 238 Davis in Oak Cliff, Dallas this Saturday, October 6 at 8 pm. The admission is free. No more details other than the date and the event are given or if it will be an open street event, but if anyone living in the area wish to attend then I hope you do enjoy it. Gonna be there myself for sure.
You know, I am getting a bit tired of how some people working at the Dallas Library branches keep treating people like me whenever I bother to visit. Just today a few minutes ago I was completing a survey on the phone because I applied online for it, and for some reason no matter how I tried to lower the voluem (my phone was at 0 if you must know), the other end sounded like the person was screaming and I had no phones because this phone is a model that you must get other kind of said phones to listen privately. All of the sudden a guy working here complains that he can hear where he is and I need to lower t he volume. I told him what the situation was and added that some other old guy was speaking at the top of his lungs and arguing outloud while on his own phone YET he never even got told anything for over 30 minutes. That guy just shrugged and made some sort of noise with his mouth and glared at me.
So I didn't want any more trouble that was already happening, therefore I locked my PC and went on finishing said call far on the exit.
This is not the first time these people mess with me, the last time a black woman working there was totally racist towards me. I already talked to the main manager and will do so today about this guy as well. I feel as if they don't even want mt to stop by and get a book or something. If anything, I will also complain to Administration about this. I am tired and will not take it next time I decide to visit.
Anyone here has dealt with unruly behavior from said people in those branches?

When I went to Denton with my friend (in the video) we were expl;oring the parking lot of one of DART rail stops until the next ride arrived to continue. We found these that allow you to store your bicycle and even a lock can be used so no one can mess with it or steal it. Too bad there were no motorcycle versions :P
I am sure some have known about this however.

Money is horribly tight. I need to go to a clinic but got nothing on me. Was wondering if besides Barrios Unidos (I am not even sure it exists anymore) there are any other free clinics in Dallas?
