Getting Back Into the Fandom
Recently (Well, not that recent if I have to think about it, but whatever) got back into the Power Rangers fandom. Partly cos of PMC2, partly cos of JYB. After doing a marathon of past seasons, I have come to the conclusion that some things are much better left as childhood memories. That is when I don't notice the horrible plot lines (that sometimes make absolutely no sense at all), the bad dubbing (especially during S2 when ASJ, Thuy Trang & Walter Jones were having contract disputes), the horrible acting and well, the list kinda goes on. But somehow, beyond all reason, I still love this show. Go figure.
I did notice though, and I LMAO-d at this, that while I didn't mind the Tommy show so much when I was younger, mainly cos I adored Kim and since she liked Tommy then he should be great too (plus he's the frickin' leader), he really annoys me now. I mean, I liked Tommy when he was the Green Ranger, but once he became the White Ranger, it was essentially his show. All the other characters just fell to the sidelines. Tommy gets the girl, Tommy has issues, Tommy has some more issues, Tommy fights, Tommy saves the girl, Tommy is separated from his girl, Tommy gets dumped, Tommy has more issues, Tommy has even more issues... You get the picture. Of course it didn't help that I basically crushed on Adam the second time around and he has a grand total of less than 10 focus episodes. And considering the amount of time he was on PR, that's just wrong. Don't even get me started on how one of the Adam focused episodes *cough* Challenge *cough* turned into another Tommy show. Honestly, the dude should have found himself by now. You've been on the show for 2 frickin' seasons man!
Anyways, I did create this journal for the sole purpose of staying in touch with the PR community on LJ. It's much more convenient to post comments and what not. I'll stick to my blogspot blog since just about everything's there, and I can customize my html and stuff, but who knows. Maybe I'll like the privacy settings enough to make the shift, unlikely as that may be, considering none of my friends actually use LJ. Meh.
