McDean Fanfic!
Welcome to do_or_did!The McDean fic archive on LJ! What is "McDean"? Well, we're a bit shocked that you're here and you don't know, but we're not going to begrudge you. 'McDean' is the shipper name of John Paul McQueen and Craig Dean from the British soap, Hollyoaks. Their story is long and twisty but well worth checking out. To cut a long story short, two best friends: one was straight, one wasn't so straight and there's falling in love and angst and kisses and everything you could ever want. Wikipedia has a good summary of their story, or you can watch it in full here or on YouTube. This ship doesn't let you off lightly, and you may never recover again. It spawned a year long campaign by some of the "McDeaners" to give them a 'Sunset Ending', won a fair few awards, and there are fans the world over. Don't say we didn't warn you. |
Rules 01 This place is for McDean fic and anything writing-related (essays, fic illustrations, fic quote icons, etc.) Any sort of fic - WIPs (Work In Progress), drabbles, one-offs, anything - is welcome, whether you've posted it elsewhere or not :) RPS is currently not accepted. Anything else should go to jplovescraig.02 Betas are loved, and concrit very much welcomed. Personal attacks and trolls will not be tolerated. 02a Comments are love. If you read something and enjoy it, make sure you let its author know! :) 03 Please tag your entries. Tags are provided for genre, form and the link to the canon. The full list of tags can be found here and this post has definitions of terms to help you tag. 04 Please use the header seen underneath when posting any writing, and consider warnings. Since the canon is now technically closed, spoiler warnings are not really necessary but graphic scenes or character death might not be everyone's favourite kink. Name, Word Count, Author's Note and anthing else you might like to add are also welcome. 05 We use the G - NC-17 rating system here. There's a good guide on what each rating means here. If you're not sure, please tag your post with 'needs tagging' and mods will work out what it is. 06 So far, you've only got one mod, glitterfairy25. Positions for a few more mods are currently open.07 LJ cuts are useful for keeping the entries short and people happy. Please cut: -Anything longer than 200 words. -Large pictures. -Anything NSFW. Failure to meet any of these rules may result in a community ban. |
