There is a further discrepancy shown in a letter from Gosford to Glenelg, dated 19 July 1837 and repeated in the report of the inspector general, quoted by Poullett Thomson in a letter to John Russell dated 24 Mar. 1840. In both the sum for improvements expended is shown as £9,575.
