I'm getting the urge to write again...in fact, I even read a fanfic today.

This webpage will remain on hiatus due to my poor health, it will re-open when I can devote the time to it I feel it deserves. I apologize to those who follow it.

First off, I want to thank drk_cookie, for the virtual gift and the kind thoughts, both are much appreciated.

On the update front, am still dealing with health issues, a little over a month and a half ago, I was diagnosed with a severe ulcer and thrush, following an endoscopy, I go back in two weeks and my surgeon will decide if a follow-up endoscopy is necessary as it is the meds I'm on for my heart and arthritis that have caused the ulcer. If it isn't healing on it's own with the assistance of the med additions and shuffling we've done, I will need to go in for yet another surgery, this one to remove the ulcer. My surgeon tells me that this is not a simple one so keep your fingers crossed.

Will post more news as I have it.

I wish I could say I've been writing away and have tons of things to post for you, unfortunately, I'd be lying, and that is never good. I'm still going to physical therapy for strength building and stretching on my arm twice a week, and have added water therapy as well. The drawback is added pain as the work is pretty aggressive, but, it looks as if I'm going to regain full range of motion, strength is still up in the air, with three weeks more to go.

I am desperate to start writing again, but, until I can get past the pain, and lower the dosage of pain meds I'm not finding myself able to produce the quality of material I know I'm capable of. I hope you all understand, and continue to bear with me as I work myself through this recovery.

So, my surgeon finally gave me the okay to begin physical therapy and while it seems like we're doing very little, once it's done the after-effects hurt like hell. I see the therapists twice a week so they can do range of motion stretching upward and outward with my arm in slow degrees. In addition to that, I have two sets of exercises that I do twice a day, twenty reps each where I bend at the waist and with my arm hanging down do a sort of rotation stretching with it. The way my therapist explains it, it's a gentler way to work the arm's rotation without having to work over my head as most of the work is done with leg and hip movements and the arm then is propelled by that action.

On the down-side, my surgeon also decided that I was doing too much on my own with my arm and told me to ease up, tighten my sling and limit activity to just what was done through physical therapy. Of course, this also comes at the same time that my in-home assistance is cut off so, I have no one to help with any house cleaning, or anything else that I'm unable to do myself. To add to that, they also refused to allow PT to be done in home, meaning I have to drive myself to my appointments without having use of my right arm or being able to wear a seat-belt. I love the logic of the system sometimes.

Anyway, other then that, my surgeon says the arm is healing wonderfully and I can't ask for more then that, so, I'm just going to follow his orders and hope that I come out of all this without any loss of range of motion or strength.

I saw my surgeon for the first time since leaving the hospital and he did another set of x-rays on my arm. I'm happy to report that he says the healing is "textbook", something that I think surprised him as much as it did me considering my health history. Knowing that, he was able to remove the bandages and the staples and send me home in just a sling. This is something I still don't understand considering how bad the break was, I was certain it would be casted, but, not anymore. I'm not yet able to do PT, but, have been told to start trying to move the arm away from my body, no more than an inch though, and continuing working on straightening at the elbow. I'll see my doctor again in another two weeks and he'll decide then if I'll be ready for more serious PT. Thanks to all for the good wishes, keep sending those positive thoughts.

On a side note, for those who have noticed, while I've been dealing with this, someone decided it was a good time to hack my website and message board, both are corrupted and we are working to try and find the problem and save four years worth of work. I will never know why people do these things, it's just hateful...

I fell Saturday night, broke my arm and had surgery yesterday night to insert a rod in the arm, I may be here a couple more days, and this is my first time on since the fall. It was an awful break, so bear please with me.

Also, if you could pass the word along, to those you think might be wondering why I seem to have vanished here and from my website/message board. Due to an html error I have no knowledge of how to fix, I can't post on the MB nor have I been able to find the woman who usually does my coding to my sites so, we are in limbo until I find out what is happening. I'm so sorry for my clumsiness screwing things up for everyone. Seems I'm not supposed to be healthy I guess.
