World War 2 and the japanese interment camps. The United States goverment forceably removed it's own people, japanese in decent, from their property and their lives.

In going to the buddest ceremony for JJ's father yesterday, I realised that almost every older person in the room, and there was over 200 of them there, grew up in Alemeda, Californa and was interned in one of the camps. Mostly in Topaz camp in Utah, The breath of the history these 200 people held inside them overwelmed me.

It made me sick inside.

Do not let it happen again, politics by fear will never win. Hitler, MacCarthy, Castro, none of it works in the end. Now we have more of the same. TSA, National Security bullshit that should have been taken care of by the agencies we already had in place.

We are slowly loosing our freedoms, one at a time. Nicking away in the pale promice of "feeling more secure"

Guess what, moving the japanese population from the west coast might have made the people of the time "feel safer", but is still wasnt right. Most of those people could leave the camps as long as they went east. JJ's day went to Trinity college in Conneticut, Ubtained a master in education degree from Columbia University, Taught in Missori when he, his wife and daughter were the only Asians in the whole end of the state.

Mostly what I'm trying to say here is that the shit was wrong. How much further could Jay's father have gone if he wasnt uprooted from his home and shoved into a camp with a failing education system thrown together with spit and baleing wire? How much further could he have gone if the US Army had not drafted him BACK into the army after his honerable discharge AFTER he was drafted the first time? Having to delay his education yet again.

A puny letter from Bush 1 and another from Clinton are laughable at best.

You think I'm angry? Think again, I'm disapointed..
