Anonymous asked: uhh i saw this artwork of yours with connor and hank, where connor asked this "theres a 99,69 chance of jericho being haunted as fuck"-thing, and i would ask you if it was on purpose that their outfits looks exactly like joseph and seb's from the evil within game?? xDD

Yes, that’s a The Evil Within AU pic :D!

Anonymous asked: What brushes do you use? Or what software?

I’ve been mostly using Clip Studio Paint lately! Just the default pen/brush/pencil tools, lol. I also use Photoshop, and default brushes there too. :’D

Anonymous asked: I just finished watching Tokyo Ghoul, so I'm not super familiar with the shipping/characters yet. May I ask about your "tsukikane" and "sasaki haise" tags? Because that's kaneki, right? And is sasaki in the picture? Tags apparently confuse me, I'm sorry OTL

Hi! Since you just finished watching, I recommend reading the manga since there were a number of changes made in the anime. Plus, season 2 will have an anime original ending written by Ishida, so you’re not really spoiling yourself since it’ll be edited anyway.

“Tsukikane” is the tag for Tsukiyama and Kaneki.

The Tokyo Ghoul manga finished a couple of weeks ago with chapter 143. The sequel, Tokyo Ghoul:re, just started and the protagonist is “Sasaki Haise.” It has been heavily hinted, although not 100% confirmed, that Sasaki is Kaneki. I don’t think Ishida intends for the reader to spend a long time questioning whether Sasaki and Kaneki are the same person. I think you’re supposed to pick up that they are, and spend your time wondering how Kaneki at the end of tkg became the Sasaki we see in :re.

However, since we only have two chapters so far, I could be wrong. If Sasaki somehow turns out to be an entirely separate person from Kaneki, then my bad, and I’ll swap out the tag, haha.

Edit: Since this post, it’s been confirmed. Sasaki is Kaneki, so the tag stays.

freekyojin asked: Omg you're going to TCAF too? Too bad you're just attending... Would have loved to see more of your artwork!

Yeah!! And, aww, thanks! TCAF’s one of my favorite events, but it’s an expensive and ill-timed (… right around finals, haha ha..) trip, so I’ve skipped the past couple of years.
I’d love to attend as an exhibitor in the future though! Perhaps after I’ve graduated and printed some original works. ( ╹◡╹)♥

clockworkdandy asked: Omg so many questions. First off your style is lovely! Second what sort of medium do you use for your traditional drawings? And also what is your trick for getting such nice scans? Mine always look either washed out and flat or way over contrasted and vibrant??

Hi! Ahhh, thank you!

Stuff I use for traditional drawings:
- Pencils: col-erase (red, blue), wooden.. pencils (lol), 0.5 mechanical pencil, prismacolors
- Pens: hi-tec (0.25 and 05), faber-castell pitt artist pen (s, m, brush), uni-ball signo (white)
- Markers: letraset pantone tria (cool gray), copic sketch, sharpie (black, red)
- Erasers: magic rub eraser, kneaded eraser, papermate tuff stuff eraser stick

I think that’s pretty much everything at the moment!

As for scans, I don’t have any tricks to it? I scan work in at 300-600 dpi as a color photo without letting the scanner auto-adjust contrast/etc. Then I adjust the curves/levels manually in Photoshop until it looks okay.

Not bugging me at all, Anon! ( ‘∇‘ )ノ A lot of it is done traditionally and scanned in. I think my 100% digital stuff looks obviously digital, so if you think something was drawn on paper, there’s a good chance it was.

Anonymous asked: YOUR ART IS SO GOOD THAT I JUST WANT TO GIVE UP EVERYTHING AND LIVE IN THE WOODS

WTF, DON’T DO THAT UNLESS YOU INTEND ON WRESTLING BEARS IN THE WOODS FOR A YEAR TO ACCELERATE YOUR ARTISTIC GROWTH, OKAY.

Anonymous asked: sorry to be nosy! but what do you mean, "besides my kids"?

If you’re referring to the previous post, I said, “but in the bigger picture no one aside from kids would consider me old”

I meant like children in general, not necessarily mine, ahaha. I don’t have any kids yet!

Anonymous asked: Senpai, how old are you? Just wondering because I'm only 16 and I really want to be able to draw like you so I'm practicing a lot but don't know if I can ever be able to draw nice art x___x you really are amazing I love your work sm!

I’m in my 20’s! By tumblr standards, I’m borderline ancient but in the bigger picture no one aside from kids would consider me old. Like you said, you’re only 16 so you have many, many years of drawing ahead of you (if that’s what you want to do)!

I think being aware of what your peers are producing is good to keep in mind for perspective reasons, but try not to let yourself become discouraged to the point of giving up drawing altogether! Everyone learns at different rates, but so long as you keep drawing (and tackling weak points), you WILL improve.

Because you’re anon I don’t know what your art looks like, but I’m sure it’s plenty nice! Everyone is extra harsh on their own work, so sometimes it’s hard to see what’s working/great about it!

Since I didn’t reveal my age, here’s some old art from when I was 16 (Lmao, hands being cropped at the wrist was apparently a thing I did a lot)

It almost looks like someone else drew it, but it’s not too hard to see how this is a precursor to how I draw now. By the time you’re my age, you might be drawing in a style/at a level you never considered before or thought possible.

Ahhh, I hoped this helped even a little. Thank you so much for the kind words!! Just keep drawing~

Anonymous asked: HEY THERE YOU WHO DRAWS GREAT ART. i have a friend who's all kouhai for you but she's too shy to tell you how much she loves your art. i keep telling her to come out of her crush-closet but you know, people. she's such a dumb geez. (also omg i'm gonna have a tumblr crush on you too. such eruri. very art. much gay. wow yaoi can love bloom on the battlefield)

AHHHHH, HELLO THERE!! Sorry for the delayed response, I wasn’t really sure how to answer this, haha.. But omg, shushhhh you, kind anon. Thank you so much! I’m flattered about all this senpai-kouhai business, but I’m not worthy of being anyone’s senpai to be honest, ahaha. I draw old men yaois and enable others to do the same. All I could teach anyone as senpai is how to ruin lives by leading others into the eruri way of life. It’s neither a noble or sensible use of your time.
I hope I’m not giving off an unapproachable air or anything. I don’t talk too much on any of the blogs, so sometimes I wonder if that might make me seem unfriendly, lol. Well, should your friend ever want to talk, my ask box is open! (<ゝω・)

Anonymous asked: sorry to bother you, but how did you make that character relationship chart from a few months ago? it looks really cool and fun and i'd love to make one sometime so i was just curious if there was a certain site you used or whatever. sorry for being annoying!!! thank you!

OH DANG, I FORGOT TO ANSWER THIS. Hi, Anon, hope you’re still around and care about this!?

I used this icon generator for my characters’ faces: http://www.icongenerators.net/square.html

Then I stuck them together, threw the relationship lines all over the place, and added text in the stupidest, most time consuming way imaginable in Photoshop. That’s it.

There’s probably a site out there that can facilitate making such a chart, but I’m not one to make things easier for myself. :’D Ahaha..

dootdoottttttt asked: This is a bit far fetched but have you read Michael Hampton's book on figure drawing? The way you approach anatomy reminds me of that book!

Ahh, thank you! I haven’t really read it. I remember flipping through an instructor’s pile of books during a workshop, and this was definitely one of them I wanted to buy but haven’t yet (the author/title are probably lost in an old sketchbook somewhere)! So technically, no, I haven’t, but I’ve probably absorbed some of its wisdom thanks to my instructor having read it, haha.
