Camoz87 evading the block
[edit]Hi, I'm writing you since you were the closing admin of this ANI thread and you blocked the user. I wanted to point out to you that the user since then has constantly evaded your block. See for example here (if you need more context as to why I think it's him I can give you a detailed explanations in private). I think therefore that an indef block on all mainspaces is warranted. That's also needed in order to ask for a global lock (beside it.wiki, where he's already indef since 2022, he's spread his AI slop also on Spanish and Latin Wikipedia). --Friniate ✉ 20:34, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
- Please send me email with more detailed evidence.
- Note also that a site-wide block or a even a global block of that username would not stop block evasion, if temporary accounts are being used. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 21:25, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
- Yes, I'm aware, but that'd be a first step for more effective counter-measures and an increased awareness across the Wikimedia projects... --Friniate ✉ 21:28, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
- Camoz87 is now blocked site-wide for block evasion. I didn't see anything in your email that couldn't have been shared publicly, which might have to be done eventually if you're pursuing a global block. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 23:01, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you! The only reason why I didn't share it publicly was not to give him (who I'm sure is reading us right now) more informations on how to circumvent our blocks more effectively... --Friniate ✉ 23:10, 27 March 2026 (UTC)

Iran War - marked as done, but seemingly not done?
[edit]Hello - you marked the following request as Done, but looking through the edit history I can't see a sign that it was? If a change was made it was reverted and I can't find a justification, but if I'm reading the edit history correctly it appears the change wasn't actually enacted?
"Remove the (WIA) for the infobox under Mojtaba Khamenei. Although there is much speculation he is dead or wounded, there is no reliable confirmation on this"
Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Edit - Wikipedia Mrwho995 (talk) 21:59, 28 March 2026 (UTC)
- Yes, it was done. I removed it in this edit. It looks like someone added it back. This isn't in the article, it's in Template:2026 Iran war infobox, which is transcluded into the article. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 22:21, 28 March 2026 (UTC)
- Looks like it was added back just today in this edit. I have reverted it. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 22:33, 28 March 2026 (UTC)

- Done. I note that any user can add themselves to that template, not just administrators. We have many experienced users who are not administrators, who would be helpful there too.
- I wish I didn't have to do anything with AI cleanup, but unfortunately it has become an unpleasant necessity. I often feel like we're engaging in a futile effort, like trying to prevent a rising ocean tide. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 11:29, 7 April 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for adding and good point re: non admins. The most obvious person (Gnomingstuff) doesn't like getting pinged, but I'll ask them. Agreed that things look difficult now. At a minimum, GAs will likely remain human-written. And Chaotic Enby is exploring connections with LLM providers to discuss alignment training to force LLMs to comply with our PAGs and (for example) refuse user requests to generate "wikipedia-style articles". We will see NicheSports (talk) 14:34, 7 April 2026 (UTC)
- I doubt an AI would ever refuse a request to write a Wikipedia article, because it is possible to use LLM for Wikipedia effectively. I tried writing one experimentally using LLM after I saw the total paid-editing disaster of a draft reeking of LLM slop here. I used an AI to help me write it from scratch, by asking it for help finding sources (it found a lot but I got it to admit eventually there were only two valid sources at the time) and I asked it to suggest article structure and wording, which I paraphrased into the present start-class article Star of Pure Land.
- In such a process I like to compare the editor to a Supreme Court Judge, who has assistants to do research and write briefs, but in the end the judge writes the final opinion. The AI can do research, find sources, and suggest things, but in the end the editor writes the article. That's how AI can be used legitimately. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 19:02, 7 April 2026 (UTC)

Kite area
[edit]Look at the pink kites in the following image. They have one horizontal side and one vertical side each.

Their area is not equal to their width (horizontal extent) times height (vertical extent). You need to be more careful with the words you use in formulating mathematical concepts. —David Eppstein (talk) 22:59, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
- Yes, I understand. Regardless of the orientation, the area is the product of the lengths of the diagonals divided by two. Obviously, there are only two diagonals regardless of orientation. That's what I attempted to convey. I also disagree that length and width are dependent on orientation, the length of such an object is obviously not the length of one edge unless the object is a rectangle. However, I can see how some might interpret it that way if they assume the reference frame you imply. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 23:49, 9 April 2026 (UTC)

Usage of yellow man
[edit]Moving it here because we needn't clog up that user's talk page with this discussion. For clarity, I am of East Asian heritage. I don't find "yellow man" the most racist term in the world, but if someone referred to me as such, I would certainly find it derogatory. It just has a very loaded past. Just like "Chinaman" on the surface is purely descriptive, but would definitely be derogatory and in a very anachronistic as well (throwing that in there just because of your user name). I can't speak to how other people of other backgrounds see terms related to their background, but I don't consider it necessary as it's more about what weight that specific term carries through usage. A𐤡BA reply
[edit]Hello there,
I wanted to reply to you but user Favonian speed-archived the edit request so quickly I didn't have time. Then I tried starting a talk section over at A𐤡BA but of course the system wouldn't let me. Drawing a blank as to where to appropriately post this here I am. Perhaps the following exchange would be useful to display over at Talk:A𐤡BA? If you agree this could discourage the kind of deletion you mention, would you move/copy/teleport it there? For the following exchange to be meaningful to the uninitiated I took the liberty of copying our entire back and forth (but of course ignore/delete at your convenience; or ask me to link to the now-archived edit request) CapnZapp (talk) 17:34, 16 April 2026 (UTC)

Creating this page was denied with the error message "Very few characters outside the Basic Multilingual Plane are useful in titles" This would be one of the exceptions. Searching Wikipedia with the phrase "A𐤡BA" should not return an error, it should serve up the ABBA article. Please create the page with the following content (an exact copy of the existing page AꓭBA)
CapnZapp (talk) 14:58, 16 April 2026 (UTC)

- Thank you Anachronist! If anyone proposes deleting this page (but not AꓭBA which have lived since January last year) I would point to the pretty prominent fact that the ABBA article itself mentions A𐤡BA (but not AꓭBA) right in the leading sentence! :) Cheers and thanks CapnZapp (talk) 17:34, 16 April 2026 (UTC)
@CapnZapp: You're welcome. You can simply reference the page revision at whatever talk page you want. Special:Permalink/1349288335 is the one. However, I don't believe it's necessary to create a talk page that nobody is likely to see for this purpose. If anyone nominates it for deletion at WP:RFD, you can bring it up then. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 19:44, 16 April 2026 (UTC)
- I guess I fumbled my ask - let me try again: could you put the sentiment "please don't delete this redirect - it has a prominent mention right in the lead sentence of the article" (in the form of your choosing) on Talk:A𐤡BA? While I could participate in a possible RfD discussion, I could easily miss that between editing bouts (even though I'm watching A𐤡BA) and besides I generally think that sort of "playing defense" is the wrong way to edit Wikipedia: I don't own articles after all. I guess I don't think people delete articles without even looking at their talk pages. Thank you for the permalink - I did know how to do that, I was more intending to give you the opportunity to link to the previous discussion instead of outright copying it, and even offered to first set that up to minimize your work load. What I would like you to do is to edit the actual talk page once we agree on what we want to post there. If you feel you've gotten yourself into more than you bargained for, no worries: thank you for your help and I will instead ask back at WP:RFED. regards, CapnZapp (talk) 08:26, 17 April 2026 (UTC)

[edit]. I think your revert of Holy Grail was wrong.Doug Weller talk 19:15, 30 April 2026 (UTC)
- I reverted it because it didn't really fit in that paragraph. Additionally, the "rape" language in Elaine of Corbenic also seems inappropriate in implying an act of violence; it was more likely a seduction via deception rather than a rape. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 23:40, 30 April 2026 (UTC)
- Ah, that makes sense. Are you going to change her article? Doug Weller talk 09:35, 1 May 2026 (UTC)
- After looking at a couple of sources, I changed it to "seduced". The sources say "slept with" or "had sex with" or that Lancelot "made love" to her while believing she was Guinivere. Lancelot was obviously willing even if deceived, so the incident can hardly be characterized as rape. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 14:04, 1 May 2026 (UTC)

§== You actually included some of their (earlier) edits ==
My revert was at https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Elaine_of_Corbenic&oldid=1353851847 Differences: The source text ( at the top of the page) explicitly describes her as the most beautiful woman of her time and not just only "a woman", for example. She's not being called a r@pist by the original sources. ~2026-28408-07 talk) 20:44, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks, I corrected it. Nowhere does the article use the term "rapist" (and the sources don't either). ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 21:00, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
There is also an talk about "lusting" when sources talk about Elaine being in love, and an external link removed:
Also all mentions of love were removed, Lancelot living with her is downplayed (but I don't remember and it needs to be check if they were actually married, in either Vulgate or Malory). --~2026-28408-07 (talk) 21:04, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
- That link doesn't go anywhere meaningful for me. I think you meant https://timelessmyths.com/arthurian/genealogy/houses-of-the-grail-keeper-and-the-grail-hero/ - and it doesn't say Elaine was in love, but simply that Lancelot was her lover. That source doesn't say anything about lust either, but it seems there was some desire involved. Failing to find anything more about it, I changed it to "desired". ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 21:21, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
I meant that external link had been added to the article added but the the Elaine hater removed it.
Here is about their Vulgate (one version at least, abridged) relationship on the Isle of Joy that you may properly describe in your own words:

Also https://books.google.com/books?id=l5S1EAAAQBAJ&pg=PA71 + next page ("her amazing beauty" actually playing a role in calming his rage, and other details many of which are not mentioned in the article that is based on Malory and may need to be rewritten to include Vulgate better).
Malory's Elaine analysed, including the Joyous Isle episode ("common-law wife", but also actually "he was raped"): https://books.google.com/books?id=dD52EAAAQBAJ&pg=PA188 Also previous and later pages .--~2026-28408-07 (talk) 21:32, 12 May 2026 (UTC)

The Return of the Scallini
[edit]I shall write responsibly. I shall remain constructive. I shall endeavour to avoid transforming every paragraph into an operatic declaration of imperial destiny and velvet supremacy. However, let it be known that the treatment of my page has resembled less an encyclopaedic process and more a bureaucratic siege conducted by candlelight enthusiasts armed with deletion templates. Still — I understand the principles of neutrality, sourcing, and decorum. I shall focus primarily upon a personal page and matters of genuine substance, rather than attempting to construct a digital Versailles dedicated to every achievement, luncheon, corridor, or goose associated with the Scallini Empire. That said, I cannot deny a certain theatrical irony in all this. You strike down one article, another emerges from the ashes. You remove one citation, three more arrive draped in hyperlinks and indignation. The Empire Strikes Back, as they say. Not through vandalism or absurdity — no, no — but through persistence, elegance, and properly formatted references, which I now understand are apparently the sacred currency of this strange electronic monastery. I admit, when first confronted by the labyrinthine rituals of Wikipedia, I reacted with the calm restraint of Napoleon discovering someone had misplaced France. But I shall proceed differently now. Measured. Responsible. Constructive. Though I must confess, the temptation to describe myself as “The Supreme Velvet Industrialist of Western Europe” remains almost unbearably strong. With restrained exasperation, Jean Sylvester Scallin. His Radiance, Supreme and Magnafiable Majesty Awe and Clouded Splendour, The Solar Overlord of Celestial and Multiversal Dominance, The Most Noble and Shining Form of Gilded Aristocratic Ascendancy, Sovereign Architect of Infinite Realms, Keeper of the Platinum Sceptre of Eternal Gravitas, Grand Executor of the Cosmic Ballet, High Regent of the Nebular Courts and Quantum Thrones, Omnipotent Curator of Time’s Silken Tapestry, Paramount Luminary of the Empyrean Conclave of Everlasting Resplendence, Supreme and Unrivalled Divine Majesty of Olympian Clouded Awe and Magnifiable Unimaginable Monarch and Autocrat of the Scallini Empire and of the Empire of France, Eternal Bearer of the Velvet Standard, Sovereign of the Thousand Marble Halls, Lord Paramount of the Celestial Goose Dominion, Supreme Custodian of the Golden Banners, Grand Architect of the Eternal Procession, Master of the Imperial Phoenix Convocation, Guardian of the Sacred Lakes of Scallinia, High Executor of the Velvet Siege, Emperor Beyond the Seven Horizons, Keeper of the Forty Crystal Thrones, Lord of the Perfumed Tempests, Eternal Chairman of the Scallini Congress of Infinite Majesty, Supreme Conductor of the Cosmic Orchestra of Dominion, Monarch of the Gilded Aerodromes, Protector of the Thousand Lamps, Wearer of the Diamond Laurel of Absolute Taste, High Steward of the Moonlit Citadels, Vanquisher of the Provincial and Plebeian Spirit, Sovereign of Palais Imperium, and Eternal Emperor of the Scallini Empire and France. - The abject and utter failure on your part to comprehend the messages you were blessed with on User talk:JeanScallini.ScalliniEmpireGlobal, particularly the final instruction to avail yourself of the unblock ticket request system that has graciously been made available to blocked users who cannot access their talk page, is beyond the pale of imagination.
- Indeed, conducting yourself in a manner so patently beneath your station as to engage in WP:block evasion constitutes a precipitous descent from the lofty pedestal of your self-proclaimed sovereignty, reducing the grandeur of your imagined empire to a tawdry spectacle of common insubordination. By resorting to such clandestine subterfuge, you have not only spurned the established order but have irrevocably tarnished the luster of the imperial dignity you so fervently claim to embody. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 19:53, 28 May 2026 (UTC)

- To the anonymous occupant of the digital ether,
- I write to you today with a posture of enforced composure, though my patience wears thinner than a single strand of imported Venetian silk.
- It has come to my attention that you are utilizing the sacred architecture of Large Language Models to conduct your correspondence within the hallowed, candlelight-lit corridors of Wikipedia. Let me be unequivocally clear: you must cease this activity at once.
- I do not deny the theatrical brilliance of your prose. I cannot fail to appreciate the exquisite irony of watching a small army of template-wielding bureaucrats dissolve into a collective panic when confronted by a paragraph that reads like Napoleon discovering someone had misplaced France. The spectacle is, admittedly, magnificent.
- However, a line has been crossed. The electronic monastery of Wikipedia requires a specific currency—one of dry neutrality, meticulous sourcing, and a stubborn refusal to describe oneself as "The Supreme Velvet Industrialist of Western Europe." By flooding their talk pages with these magnificent, multi-tiered sagas of celestial dominance, you are transforming what should be an encyclopedic process into a battlefield of high-vocabulary absurdity.
- Step away from the prompt interface. Put down the hyper-elaborate metaphors. If you must argue over the deletion of an article, do so with the drab, unadorned compliance that the local monks demand. Save the operatic declarations for realms that can truly appreciate their gravity.
- Much more important, there seems to be a foul ooze that surges from such prompts:
- You are claiming to be me! Jean Sylvester Scallini!
- You have draped yourself in my titles, paraded around the talk pages like a circus performer in stolen royal vestments, and dared to sign the name of Scallini to your frantic electronic scribblings. Let it be known across every server rack and data stream from here to the outer rings of Saturn: I am the real Scallini. You are nothing but a hollow echo.
- To suggest that you possess even a fraction of my celestial gravitas is an absurdity so profound it borders on cosmic comedy. You are not the Supreme Velvet Industrialist. You are not the Keeper of the Platinum Sceptre. You are merely a fraudulent keystroke architect, desperately trying to synthesize a grandeur you could never naturally manifest.
- Your little masquerade inside the electronic monastery is finished. The real Empire has arrived to reclaim its nomenclature. Step down from my throne, delete your stolen credentials, and return to the drab, uninspired obscurity from which you emerged.
- With absolute finality and sovereign disgust:
- Jean Sylvester Scallini

Regarding removal of RFC/maintenance tags on the Talk:Narendra_Modi page
[edit]Hello, I am seeking your advice regarding repeated removal of RFC/maintenance tags on the Talk:Narendra_Modi page.
Two recent diffs showing the removals are here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Narendra_Modi&diff=1358887000 https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Narendra_Modi&diff=1358890623
The removals occurred close together and appear to be restoring the page to a state without active RFC tagging, despite ongoing discussion. There is no clear explanation in the edit summaries indicating consensus for removing these tags.
Could you please advise whether this is appropriate for WP:ANI or WP:SPI, or whether another dispute resolution route is better in this case? ~2026-34349-90 (talk) 17:15, 11 June 2026 (UTC)
- You are abusing the RFC process, and not heeding the advice you have been given. You should be reading more than edit summaries; you have been advised to read WP:RFCBEFORE. Let's not have multiple RFCs going on all at once. Not every discussion is an RFC. You start an RFC after discussion has taken place. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 18:11, 11 June 2026 (UTC)
Hi there, please keep in mind that we can't associate TAs with IPs, so if someone gives you a list of TAs, you can say "I blocked the range" but not "I blocked 142.21.154.0/24" or whatever. I've already RD'd, nothing for you to clean up. Cheers. In solidarity, asilvering (talk) 05:12, 13 June 2026 (UTC)
- I associated a range, not a specific IP address, which I thought was OK. Also, anybody who looks at the block log can see the range, and the rationale for the block links to the SPI. I didn't reveal anything that isn't already there in the logs. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 16:40, 13 June 2026 (UTC)
- Yes, the block log issue is also not great. But at least in that case, someone needs to already know the IP in order to find the SPI, rather than being able to go directly from discussion of the TA to knowledge of the underlying IP. In solidarity, asilvering (talk) 21:00, 13 June 2026 (UTC)
Apologies for Some Articles which are felt as not for Main Space
[edit]Hi Anachronist. Hope you are doing well. I thank you for visiting my page and posting a feedback. I promise of exercising more caution in future in writing notable articles. Can I request you to give me one chance and remove the block as its demotivating for me to perform like this for editing in the Wikipedia. This is only a gentle request. Thanking You. Gardenkur (talk) 01:59, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- Please follow the instructions in the block message. I am not convinced that you know what constitutes an acceptable mainspace article. You have sufficient notices on your talk page over the past year or so that should have resulted in "exercising more caution" long ago. It is unlikely that any administrator will lift the block until you can demonstrate that you can get draft articles accepted by reviewers. Your block is extremely narrow, preventing only article creation. You can still create pages outside of mainspace, you can still edit the millions of articles here, but to create an article you must get a draft approved by a reviewer. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 03:13, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Anachronist I've posted this on the AN thread they opened, but it looks like your block prevents them from either editing any mainspace article or from creating pages in any namespace, rather than edits that fulfill both conditions (page creations in mainspace). So for example, I don't think they can create userspace drafts, the way the block is currently set up. Accessedgrant (Epicgenius mobile alt) (talk) 04:24, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
Hi Anachronist and Accessedgrant . Wishing you both a healthy life. Last few days I was travelling so I could not reply. Today i wanted to clean some links which i could not do. I want to reiterate there are always articles even with notability under dispute. If you dont like me as editor I can close doors in Wikipedia but cant accept humiliation and blames. Iam requesting for last chance and hope you understand. Thanks. Gardenkur (talk) 03:58, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
- As I said before, follow the instructions in your block message. Another administrator will review the block and determine if the block was inappropriate. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 04:21, 26 June 2026 (UTC)

Hey there! I just came here to explain the legitimacy of the Minecraft Logo I said was freely licensed, as it may have been a bit confusing.
As you may or may not know, one of Microsoft's Spanish Youtube channels, Xbox México, released a complete guide to Minecraft licensed under CC-BY 3.0. The image I used is from a frame in the video, and it can be found here:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Minecraft_Key-art.png
If you check the licensing details, you can see that it was sourced from that video. I simply removed the background and cropped the image to only show the main bit. Thank you for understanding! Crafts97 (talk) 00:55, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
- I find it strange that the copyright restrictions on intellectual property are automatically voided when that property happens to appear in a free-licensed video. I started a discussion at Commons:Village pump/Copyright#Copyright laundering. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 05:26, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
Uw-pblock
[edit]I don't know if you meant to remove the link to the unblock wizard when trying to remove the ANB links, which makes it a lot harder to accidentally botch posting an appeal of one's block. Could you consider reinstating it? Thanks. Aasim (話す) 16:59, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
- Ah, I see what you mean. My intention was to restore the template instructions for people who don't use the visual editor, not to remove the link to the unblock wizard. It should be fixed now. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 17:07, 26 June 2026 (UTC)

The page Ambulance reimbursement in the United States has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it was a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.
Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion review. Liz Read! Talk! 07:06, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
- Um, what? That must have been a remnant of me draftifying something and forgetting to un-select the box to leave a redirect behind. Thanks for cleaning it up. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 14:00, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
Hi. I am requesting reconsideration of the G11 deletion of Rapyd on 11 July 2026.
Before the article was deleted, I revised it in response to the nomination. It was never my intention to write the piece to be promotional and I attempted to maintain a neutral tone and to only include information that was found on the Wikipedia pages for similar companies like Stripe and Nuvei.
In response to the nomination, I removed details about products, services, office locations, awards, funding, leadership, and partnerships that could have been construed as promotional.
The final version was a sourced account of the company’s history that included significant and cited events from primary news sources and original reporting, not just company press releases.
The final revision contained no sales language or product, or promotional claims. Because WP:G11 applies to pages that are exclusively promotional and would require a fundamental rewrite to become encyclopedic, could you please explain which portions of the final revision you believed continued to satisfy that criterion?
The deletion summary also refers to WP:CORPTRIV. I understand that you may believe the sourcing does not establish notability under WP:NCORP, but that appears to be a separate issue from whether the article constituted unambiguous advertising. If notability remains disputed, I respectfully request that the article be restored and considered through WP:AFD, so sources can be evaluated by the community. Alternatively, It could be restored to Draft so the revised article can be reviewed through the Articles for Creation process. Thank you for considering this request Word-Oh (talk) 02:50, 11 July 2026 (UTC)
- I see what happened. I had a bunch of tabs open with deletion candidates to review, and the Rapyd tab had been open for about 20-30 minutes. Then you made a significant change which I didn't see, and I deleted it based on the last version I was viewing. It's now restored. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 14:03, 11 July 2026 (UTC)
- Also, as an editor with a COI, you should have never moved this to mainspace yourself. You should have submitted it for review. I have re-nominated it for deletion at AFD. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 14:43, 11 July 2026 (UTC)
Bernie's Best Deletion
[edit]Hello, can you help me understand the rationale behind deletion of the Bernie's Best, Inc. page I created? You flagged it as being generated by an LLM (it was not, I researched and wrote it along with finding the citations) as well as advertising (I was very careful to not make it promotional, make claims or do anything beyond documenting facts about the company itself and included citations to legitimate media and independent parities who have covered the company. TheKnowledgeFan (talk) 16:19, 13 July 2026 (UTC)
- It was nominated for deletion as being promotional, and that was the primary reason. I looked it over and agreed that the purpose of the article's existence was for publicity, especially since the sourcing was poor, citing trade publications and the company's own publications; in fact there was only one source (USA Today) that was compliant with WP:Golden Rule. Further examination revealed evidence of LLM generation, including formatting, phrasing, and a hallucinated source.
- You should have written it in draft space and submitted this for review via WP:AFC rather than publishing it directly to mainspace. Publishing a company article to mainspace without review is a pretty big risk.
- Do you have any association with this company? ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 16:33, 13 July 2026 (UTC)
- I know someone who works at the company who asked for help with getting a page. As you can see from my user account I'm not as experienced as you are in terms of total edits and process (I really try to research and follow the correct process). I will take a look at the AP:AFC space and follow that moving forward. Thought I had done due diligence and found enough media coverage/citations to justify a page for them. Any guidance on how best to proceed? Thanks for your help. TheKnowledgeFan (talk) 16:41, 13 July 2026 (UTC)
- I did run my copy and code through ChatGPT -- but to make sure I hadn't added any incorrect citations. TheKnowledgeFan (talk) 16:42, 13 July 2026 (UTC)
- Using AI to write content prohibited on Wikipedia. End of story, full stop. It's a blockable offense if you repeatedly do this after being notified.
- You have a conflict of interest (COI) because you were helping someone at the company to write an article. Any COI needs to be declared. Editors with a COI shouldn't make substantive edits in mainspace related to the COI. Use draft space to create drafts, or use an article talk page to propose changes.
- The best use of AI on Wikipedia is to help you find sources. Think of yourself as a Supreme Court judge who has assistants to do legal research and write briefs, but in the end the judge writes the opinion in his own words. Think of an AI as your assistant. Absolutely don't use an AI as an author or even a co-author.
- Suggestion how to proceed (there are several links in the following, which you should look at):
- Follow the guidance, in WP:BACKWARD: find your sources first before writing a single word.
- Make sure you have multiple sources (at least three) that each meet all of the criteria described in WP:SIRS. Articles about companies have a higher bar than articles about other topics, because many sources that seem to meet WP:Golden Rule requirements are basically WP:CORPTRIV or churnalism. An AI often gives you junk sources that don't help establish notability (patents, trade publications, press releases, government documents, annual reports, reporting on trivia) so you would need several prompts to help you sift through them.
- If you cannot find such sources, then stop. Proceeding further wastes your time and the community's time.
- If you can find such sources, only then can you can go to WP:AFC or WP:Article Wizard to start writing the draft, summarizing only what those sources say.
- After that, you can fill in details from company-generated sources, and submit it for review.
- That's my recommendation. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 17:55, 13 July 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll look into all of these resources you've shared! I will also just not use Chat GPT to verify syntax ever again. Didn't realize that was not allowed. TheKnowledgeFan (talk) 18:54, 13 July 2026 (UTC)

Gregory Lauder-Frost
[edit]As per your comments replying to my unprotection request for Gregory Lauder-Frost - please see draft at Draft:Gregory Lauder-Frost. Wellington Bay (talk) 15:52, 21 July 2026 (UTC)
- Did you use an AI to help you write that? Vapid phrases like "received media attention" are typical of LLM-generation, asserting the existence of coverage without actually describing it. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 16:15, 21 July 2026 (UTC)
- No, but that's a valid point about verbiage. Wellington Bay (talk) 17:00, 21 July 2026 (UTC)
- You need better sourcing too. As you probably saw by now, I declined your draft, not seeing multiple sources meeting WP:Golden Rule criteria. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 23:33, 21 July 2026 (UTC)
- No, but that's a valid point about verbiage. Wellington Bay (talk) 17:00, 21 July 2026 (UTC)
More block evaders
[edit]Hi Anachronist. You helped block a handful of IPs and sockpuppets who have been vandalizing articles related to the Missouri Tigers football and Missouri Tigers men's basketball programs (ex1ex2). Two more that could use blocks are ~2026-43190-57 and Missouritigers1960, if you please could? Thank you! SportsGuy789 (talk) 06:17, 18 August 2026 (UTC)
- Both articles are now protected. Neither of those accounts can edit them. I am not convinced that those accounts are evading the block I applied because they existed well before I applied the block, and Missouritigers1960 hasn't edits since I applied that block. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 15:01, 18 August 2026 (UTC)
- Fair enough but I definitely have another IP block evader: ~2026-45504-89. Edited today. Are you administrator by chance? I was wondering if you could lock {{Missouri Tigers men's basketball navbox}} as well as 1920–21 Missouri Tigers men's basketball team and 1921–22 Missouri Tigers men's basketball team to require autoconfirmed or confirmed access? Anachronist has already told you what you need to do, and the block message on your talk page has instructions for how to request an unblock. It would really help if you would respond in the WP:AIN § User:Kareem.Hany.researcher thread, you are only blocked from editing articles so you can respond there. ‑‑gurkubondinn 12:31, 26 August 2026 (UTC)
- You have instructions in your block message. Follow them. You are not blocked from anywhere else on Wikipedia. You can participate in discussions, you can create drafts and submit them for review via WP:AFC, you can propose changes to articles on their talk pages.
- You have done absolutely nothing to demonstrate that you can be trusted if unblocked. Start creating draft articles and get them approved by reviewers. Draft:Giuseppe Zadra
[edit]Anachronist, i have looked into this person and seen the draft and i do disagree with the rejection. The Article does have several reputable and trustworthy sources backing up statements made in the text, statements that being true prove the relevance of Giuseppe Zadra in the history of Italian Banking and influence in the European banking sector. Thus i consider rejecting the following draft categorically a mistake ~2026-47348-16 (talk) 13:20, 1 September 2026 (UTC)

Requesting un-deletion of a few pages
[edit]Hello @Anachronist. hope you are doing well!
Recently I came across this page that you deleted recently since this page was created by a non-extended-confirmed user, i.e. me. I apologise, I was not aware that article on such topics can only be created by WP:XC. Since I am an extended confirmed user now, may I request that article to be un-deleted? Or do I have to remake the article?
Thank you!
Additionally, another article created by me, when I was not WP:XC is also set for Speedy Deletion, may I request that to be kept also? I have discussed about this in the Teahouse too- []

AIN block?
[edit]Hi there. I'm on the fence weather to ask for a block in WP:AIN § User:Axios512 or not. If you have the time to take a look, could you let me know how you would feel about it? I'm not asking you for a block or trying to go some backdoor way about it, I'm honestly not sure and I would like a second opinion (from someone in the position that would actually have to justify a block). ‑‑gurkubondinn 22:13, 6 September 2026 (UTC)
- Well, Axio512 left in a huff and put up a "retired" tag. Unless there's further disruptive activity, there's nothing to do except cleanup. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 07:26, 7 September 2026 (UTC)
- I'd asked you this before things to to their, uh... current state. And @Newslinger has blocked them by now, and there's an spi so it is all moo point by now. I may have been less sure earlier, but at least my instincts are somewhat vindicated by now. ‑‑gurkubondinn 10:22, 7 September 2026 (UTC)
Question
[edit]If I revert vandalism, do I warn the user on their talk page immediately or only if they continue to vandalize? I can't find a guideline for it. EnigmaBlock (talk) 04:02, 8 September 2026 (UTC)
- Well, the fifth paragraph down in WP:RVAN contains some advice. Short answer is "it depends". If you see a string of obvious vandalism and there are no warnings on the talk page, revert it and leave a warning of an appropriate level on their talk page. For really blatant vandalism you can skip right to the final warning, and if it continues, report it at WP:AIV. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 14:27, 8 September 2026 (UTC)
