Hi there

In this section of the article, the first reference (interview in naval history mag) can be used as a citation for many parts of the content tagged with citation needed. But I don't want to copy and paste the the ref for each. I've seen articles use short markup/elements/attributes to refer to an already- existing cite. While I'm sure i could read the docs, I figured I would try this first.

Here's the article, the section I want to edit is the bit about overcoming the wildcats disadvantages, thanks. Specifically i want to refer to the first cite in more places, including prior to where it first appears in the source, without copying the entire thing.

Hi, @FineIllDoIt, and apologies for the really delayed response. I've been busy for a while and I've only recently gotten back to doing wiki work. I see you're editing on mobile, which doesn't have an easy way to do this, unlike in VisualEditor where it is just a copy and paste.

At the end of the first paragraph under § Criticism, you'll see a reference with a "name": <ref name="Edwards1">. The name here makes that reference (and, by proxy, everything else inside of it) reusable. At the end of the second paragraph, you'll see almost the same thing: <ref name="Edwards1"/>. Reuses of references have a slash before the closing angle bracket. In the "References" part of the page near the bottom, you'll see that the reference has two backlinks: a and b. That's when you know that a reference is used multiple times on the page. The number that shows up in the body of the article should also be the same (notice that it says for both paragraphs).

I really need to start using my PC to edit but I'm usually on my phone out of convenience. Maybe I'll try desktop mode on mobile and see how VisualEditor works out. Hi, the Madhiban page has been subjected for vandalism for the past 2 years. Fraudant claims were made that they belong to Hawiye, a Somali nomadic clan that historical outcaste the group for their heritage as hunter gathers.

Madhibaan are part of Gabooye indigenous community who are outcasted from Somali society.

In specific, inaccurate or false information is not considered "vandalism". "Vandalism" is more in the likes of articles being replaced with gibberish or obscene photos. In any case, we do still think having incorrect information is a problem, though it counts more towards "disruptive editing" (assuming that someone persistently reintroduces inaccurate information into our articles). We would still very much appreciate edits with reliable sources that work towards making the article more accurate and, as appropriate, prevent further edits from users without experience. @Twig Sigmund: The green/red text indicates how many bytes were removed (red) or added (green) to the article as a result of that edit. We call this the "diff size" ("diff" being short for "difference", more or less the same thing as "revision" or "edit" in this context). When it's zero (gray), the size of the article (in bytes) were not changed. The number that appears on the tooltip when hovered over indicates the final size of the page, after the edit. This is merely a count of total article size, and not by any means an indication of the exact amount of added or removed text in an article. Very frequently, you may find edits which both add and remove content, which would lead to the diff size being near zero or insignificant, even though a large part of the article has been changed. Please see Wikipedia:Citing sources for more information on how to properly cite sources. @ThedogQW: I'm not going to pretend I'm an expert at the topic, but it seems the section you're linking to refers to Mormonism and the Latter Day Saint movement as a whole rather than just The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which is its main branch. That distinction is probably relevant to the phrasing of that section, which also discusses Elohim used in the general context of the Latter Day Saint movement apart from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This aside, Wikipedia prefers the use of common names over official names, much like how we use "United States" everywhere instead of "United States of America". Thai Wiktionary adding section fails

Hi Chlod! I hope this message finds you well. The ESEAP monthly call was very information and I quickly spread the news about the survey to all admin notice boards on Thai projects.

Having said that there is a technical issue that may not wait until the call. On Thai Wiktionary, a button at the top to add a new section just does not work. I confirmed it with a local admin @Octahedron80: and I just fond that reply button also does not work. We probably encounter this problematic behaviour earlier with WP:TWA. If possible, we need your help here.

These pages: th:wikt:วิกิพจนานุกรม:แจ้งผู้ดูแลระบบ, th:wikt:วิกิพจนานุกรม:เลขาชาววิกิ, they are on the project namespace. I think the script fails on the project namespace. But on other talk pages, it works fine. I got error message: Uncaught TypeError: can't access property "parentNode", startMarker is null. This error cannot be solved in-wiki. @Octahedron80: Do you have any sort of script or gadget that changes the interface, particularly for talk page comments? This seems to be tracked at phab:T427093 but the discussion implies that this isn't a consistent issue, so something else is probably going on here. We have some scripts but none of them relate to talk page or project discussion. However, we have a script that modify letter sequence of a title/message for particular writing systems. th:wikt:มีเดียวิกิ:Gadget-legacy.js I just tried to disable it on the project namespace. --Octra Bond (talk) 16:59, 6 September 2026 (UTC)

The 2026 Developing Countries WikiContest has now been running for two months!
