While I'm not Italian, a quick search of "corso umberto I Rettifilo" into Google Scholar led to a fair amount of papers, with subjects ranging from protection of historic centres to archaeology to ornamental components for architecture in 19th century Naples. Mariamnei, I see from your userpage that you're Italian, participate in WikiProject Archaeology, and are currently doing a PhD, so I'm curious to know what you think about these papers.

Criticism of Abraham Lincoln

Hello, I just want to give my take on the removal of 'Criticism of Abraham Lincoln'

The article is a synthesis of widely discussed historical interpretations of Abraham Lincoln’s legacy rather than a reproduction of any single source, most of The information I used came from Howard Zinn's 'A People's History of The United States'. I used some opinions from Libertarians like Murray Rothbard and Ron Paul to keep the article non-partisan, as well as some generic mainstream sources like History.com. I have never seen or heard of that article before - I skimmed through it, and it and from what I've seen it largely portrays Lincoln as very positive.

Happy I made your day! Malabi is great. It's like a pudding, gently sweet, clean and delicate. In my homeland it is generally served with a syrup made of sugar and rose water.

My MA studies the city of Jaffa and its environs in the Persian and Hellenistic periods in light of theories about complex and entangled settlement systems.

@Bolter21 So nice to hear your MA is focusing on Jaffa! I worked on parts of the article's classical era section, so I'd really love to read your research once it's out. And on Byzantine Palestine, the article is looking really developed already, great job on that! @NorthernWinds if you're up for helping with GAs, would you be interested in taking a look at Hasmonean Judea? 😊 I think it's pretty close to GA level, but there's still some work needed before it's ready for a successful nomination. A few things that might help: checking the text against the references, doing a copy edit pass for clarity wherever needed, and seeing if there's any important information missing. One thing worth keeping in mind: it's already at 8,839 words, just over the 8,000-word mark where length starts to become a consideration. That said, it's just a general guideline, not a hard rule, and can be exceeded if the topic warrants it; length is only one of several GA criteria, so it shouldn't be the main concern. Hello! I noticed that you redirected India at the 2028 Summer Olympics because of weak sourcing and lack of notability. I was hoping you could clarify what would be needed for the article to be considered suitable as a standalone page.

My understanding was that the ICC announcement was sufficient to verify India's qualification in women's cricket, although I appreciate that it is a primary source. Would additional independent secondary sources be required before the article should exist, or do you feel it is simply too early for a separate article until more Indian athletes qualify?

Jim Rome Is Burning brief restoration

Just to be clear, I don't make it a habit to restore bad articles. Part of the reason that I did that was not just to reverse the action of a sock, but because of the timing: The BLAR was less than three hours after the tag was applied. Another part of the reason for the restoration was to see if we could do anything with the content, either improve it or move it to Jim Rome. However, after looking through the history, it appears that the only "source" ever used was a link to the show's website, primary, and that went away when the show went away anyway. @Olivier - In general, an article that does not have an an "under construction" notice and there have not been major edits within the last hour can be draftified. This was the case in this article (there had been one minor edit in the last hour, but I would not consider it significant).

This is curious because an admin who is much more experienced than you, User:Spartaz, said "Is there no suitable merge target ? From the discussion the courage isn't lasting so it's fails NEVENT but there isn't quite enough of a consensus to close it. More input or an ATD would be useful".

I think someone who did not know to initially include the NEVENT policy in their closing summary is in no place to close such discussions.

If you want to learn how to close deletion discussions, I think you should start off with ones that are less controversial. I think at this point this broadly concerns whether you considered NEVENT and the fact of whether users' replies represented votes. Personally, I don't think you did anything wrong other than that you didn't detail your explanation for your decision in your close, which you really should do as a non-administrative editor. Your explanation seemed reasonable, I'll assure you of that, but it doesn't seem to have been enough to satisfy others.

I might suggest you provide an explanation at the review as to how you interpreted Thebiguglyalien's commentary, and what your specific rationale behind looking at NEVENT the way you did was. Walls of text have already been raised as a concern there, so I'd suggest being thorough but concise.

I never told them to ignore you, nor is it fair of you to state without any qualifying evidence that I don't understand how AfD consensus is formed. I stated that I didn't believe that they had acted in the wrong, nor did I ever portray you as the "big bad admin". I did however take concern with the fact that you described the user's close as awful. What I said was for you to stop harassing me by disqualifying every statement I make without cause or reasonable evidence (as you did above), which is the exact thing that it's simultaneously being claimed I'm doing on my talk page, and which is clearly a serious charge. Why are you given the benefit of the doubt when it comes to what's implied in your statements, when one or two statements are used to broadly characterize 6 of mine? Regardless of how long it is, a conduct violation is still a conduct violation.

Your response to the user below doesn't point to any policy grounds apart from your presuming a stricter interpretation should be expected at DRV given that its been really hot on ATDs. While several things you point to are correct, statements like Editors closing discussions not only need to know the policy but also how the community applies this to actual discussions imply as fact, without evidence that the closer didn't understand the policy, presumably NEVENT, and didn't pay clear attention to the discussion at hand, with no qualification being provided apart from the arguments of other users made in the DRV to support that statement, which have been challenged by other editors.

Even if it's written in longer form, why do you consider a good-faith check on your conduct to be any more unfair than explicitly qualifying as fact a charge of impropriety against another editor in a public forum? What gives your word more weight than theirs to substantiate that claim, and disqualify the challenge of the users that have come to their support, almost equal in number to you, who have provided equally detailed responses?

Looking at your AFD stats you genuinely don't have much experience of the process and the number of your nominations being speedy kept, suggests that your grasp of policy doesn't match community standards. You need to watch and read 100s of the things and follow the policies and try and work out in your mind the points being made and their actual adherence to policy.

Editors closing discussions not only need to know the policy but also how the community applies this to actual discussions. If you don't have that understanding you can't possibly interpret how to close and have your close within the range that the community will support.

The community is broadly inclusionist and yet you have never voted to keep an article in the 345 AFDs you have participated in. I thought I was of a deletionist mindset but that's off the scale.

Finally, when an discussion is relisted, it's not a vote, it's giving more time for discussion. An experienced closer may well analyse an ongoing discussion and identify gaps in the argument that might need filling to find consensus. That's all I did with my relist.

NEVENT was being discussed but noone was discussing lasting coverage but that's the key point needed to pass NEVENT.

DRV has been really hot on ATDs recently and if they are not discussed the consensus might not be the one that preserves as much content as possible.

Identifying a gap and asking a discussion to close it is not a vote but you cited my relist as a valid opinion in your DRV comments.

Honestly, and I mean this nicely, you are a long way from being ready to close discussions but I would be misleading you if I pretended otherwise. Spartaz ^Humbug! 07:21, 19 August 2026 (UTC)

Firstly, I will note that almost all of my participation in AfD is in my capacity of as a new article reviewer. When I review an article that I don't think is notable, I nominate it for deletion (and honestly, the majority of my nominations are deleted). I have not participated in AfD besides for that, so that explains why I don't have any keep votes. I don't think that shows a deletionist mindset, but rather simply having participated in a specific type of AfD. But if you think I should vote on a larger variety of AfD, I can do that.

Also, many of the speedy keeps have been when I withdrew a nomination after somebody found more sources that were not originally included in the article and which I did not find in my WP:BEFORE.

I am sorry I misunderstood your comment. The user filing the review request had viewed it as a vote, so I went along with that. But if anything, that would work against my close.

I'd suggest 2 areas to work on.

Firstly, I'd ask myself how other users find sources that you can't. Is there a problem with your before? Are you using the Wikipedia library to find sources? Perhaps the other editors are more permissive of sources than you? If you fix that then your nomination accuracy will improve.

Secondly, you should participate in AFD as a regular participant. Review the sources, understand how they interact with the GNG and how NOT and BLP impact content.

When your AFD stats start to normalise with outcomes that are gaining consensus then you are closer to being ready. Spartaz ^Humbug! 08:28, 19 August 2026 (UTC)

September 2026 Backlog Drive | New pages patrol
On 1 September 2026, a one-month backlog drive for new pages patrol will begin at a particularly important time for NPP. The backlog has now passed 30,000 unreviewed articles, a level that has been described in current NPP discussions as exceptionally high and potentially difficult to overcome through normal reviewing alone. Backlog drives are one of the few measures that have historically produced a noticeable reduction in the backlog, so the participation of as many active patrollers as possible will matter this month. If you can review during September, please make articles your priority. Every article that is reviewed is a meaningful reduction in the backlog. With the queue at its current size, even a relatively small increase in the number of articles each patroller reviews can add up to a substantial difference over the course of the month. This is a hybrid drive, so redirect reviewing is still included. Redirects can be a useful way for newer patrollers to get comfortable with NPP and can help people build up to reviewing articles. However, the main goal of this drive is to tackle the article backlog, and experienced patrollers are particularly encouraged to spend as much of their available reviewing time on articles as they can. Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Each article review will earn 1 point, while each redirect review will earn 0.2 points. Streak awards will be given out based on consistently hitting point thresholds for each week of the drive.
