Reference names
[edit source]Thanks for merging the duplicate references on 2019 Sri Lanka Easter bombings. This is just a note that if you use a multi-word reference name you need to enclose it in double quote marks; e.g. <ref name="Al jazeera latest updates"> rather than <ref name=Al jazeera latest updates>. MOS:US
[edit source]See MOS:US, retain U.S. in American or Canadian English articles in which it is already established, unless there is a good reason to change it

Secondary year links on state legislative elections
[edit source]Hi, I saw you just added secondary year links to all the infoboxes for state legislative elections, and I'm curious as to your reasoning for it. I've seen those used before for things like U.S. Senate elections, where they serve the purpose of linking to the last time that same class of seats was up (even directly labeled as such), but I don't think that works as well for state legislative elections. Sets of chambers are not always up in intervals that align with each other cleanly, so you're not going to find the same set of seats when you click the secondary links. All it really does is make for slightly faster navigation if you're linking through a lot of years, but it also clutters the infobox in a way that I find generally unnecessary and detrimental. - Like you said, my reasoning is that it makes for slightly faster navigation. I understand that with state legislative chambers, they're slightly all over the place in terms of timing and it would be infeasible to actually nail down clean and proper navigability. It could partially be solved if the upper house chambers and lower house chambers were split into their own articles, but I admit that would also make for a bit of a mess. I'm not entirely sure what could be done there, but the original way with no secondary year links is very clunky in terms of navigability and I personally find it tedious. Also, when it comes to state legislative elections in even-numbered years, the maps are 95% identical to each other anyway. *shrug* Oustsync (talk) 23:42, 10 September 2026 (UTC)
