The Byzantine - A Novel

Since we seem interested in collaborating with Wikipedia regarding books, I’d like to ask for your help in deleting that image of Stoppard’s letter from Commons—the one I created as an illustration—so that only the genuine one remains. I tried to submit it for deletion but couldn't manage it; whenever I try, both images get included in the process, and I only want to delete the first one. As far as I know, as long as your replacement is up, the original picture will not display anywhere. No need to remove the original. The original is kept for archiving. The Commons help desk might have better advice.

Thank you for the reply. I obtained the letter through a friend of mine at the Brazilian Academy of Letters who is part of the author's very exclusive social media circles, where he had posted it. That is why I opted for the Public Domain route. I wanted the photo of the novel's cover, but I do not have authorization from the publishers to use it. REVERSOR25 (talk) 21:57, 20 August 2026 (UTC)

A friend of mine pointed out that he had published the letter openly on his social media. That’s where I got it. That is perfectly legal in Brazil—and, I believe, anywhere else in the world. September 2026 Backlog Drive | New pages patrol
On 1 September 2026, a one-month backlog drive for new pages patrol will begin at a particularly important time for NPP. The backlog has now passed 30,000 unreviewed articles, a level that has been described in current NPP discussions as exceptionally high and potentially difficult to overcome through normal reviewing alone. Backlog drives are one of the few measures that have historically produced a noticeable reduction in the backlog, so the participation of as many active patrollers as possible will matter this month. If you can review during September, please make articles your priority. Every article that is reviewed is a meaningful reduction in the backlog. With the queue at its current size, even a relatively small increase in the number of articles each patroller reviews can add up to a substantial difference over the course of the month. This is a hybrid drive, so redirect reviewing is still included. Redirects can be a useful way for newer patrollers to get comfortable with NPP and can help people build up to reviewing articles. However, the main goal of this drive is to tackle the article backlog, and experienced patrollers are particularly encouraged to spend as much of their available reviewing time on articles as they can. Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Each article review will earn 1 point, while each redirect review will earn 0.2 points. Streak awards will be given out based on consistently hitting point thresholds for each week of the drive. Barnstars will also be granted for re-reviewing articles previously reviewed by other patrollers during the drive. If you have been thinking about doing more NPP, this is an especially good month to jump in. Whether you can review a few pages or hundreds, every review helps. Rejection of Wikipedia article

Hello Overthrows.

I´m writing in regards to an article i submitted to wikipedia called Blue Crime draft. I got a message saying it was showing signs of being generated by generative AI. In that regard i find it puzzling because i haven´t used any AI tools to generate my text or the points in the draft. Could there be any possiblity that there was an error in the coding or is there any other explanaiton, because i can esnure i wrote the article with my own words.

I tried submitting the same draft before but it also got rejected, so i sumbitted a new attempt, which is this one which minor ajustments.

I also got a general message from a user that said that I was an uninformed student at uni and that it would be almost impossible to submit an article with this subject without the proper knowledge. But this is untrue because I attended the very course at uni which touches upon Blue Crime and other maritime security aspects.

I really hope you can help me with this, if you would be so kind and have the time. Maybe you have some suggestion so that it doesn´t get flagged.

Given the context, I understand that you're involved in a maritime security university course, which explains the recent spate of blue crime-related articles this past week (if this actually applies, see WP:STUDENTS for relevant guidance). Regarding the rejection, it would be preferable to have some indication that you yourself wrote it. The text is littered with signs of LLM prose and other details incongruent with normal wiki prose, and given that the Articles for Creation process has dealt with so many LLM submissions, you can understand why I am cautious. /over.throws/^✎ 19:30, 27 August 2026 (UTC)

Hi again. I’m not sure how to give you any indication that I wrote it myself, an example could be that we had a roundtable discussion in class, where I wrote down all the arguments and made it a part of the assigment. This would not be possible with LLM models because it is not even on the internet.

Regarding the prose, I can only say that I try to vary my writing style and this time i tried to write in a Wikipedia esque way, which I based on previous articles and a Wikipedia article that described to write a good wiki article, which I linked to in a reflective essay I wrote as part of the exam. It’s my first time writing in this style so it might look a bit mechanical and overly stilalized, but that is mainly because I tried to be cautious and write on the specific style.

I still follow specific structures that I have learned at uni, and if this looks like LLM it’s very unfortunate.

I also understand why you are cautious, I would be the same, and I understand that you are just doing your job.

If you have any suggestions to how I can solve this, it would be very much appreciated.
