Hi @Rettebdael: How are you? I've left a welcome message on your talk page, more like a landing page. Please take a look at that first as it has a load of links which lead to different parts of Wikipedia. It may provide some ideas for future development. Generally you could start out by updating articles via Wikipedia:maintenance tasks. These are a whole series different tasks like e.g. spell checking or fixing grammer. Each maintenance task has a wikiproject, an area where folk gather to consult, plan and schedule. For example, the grammer team is at Wikipedia:WikiProject Grammar. There is Wikiprojects for all sorts of task. A lot of the tasks depend on your the particular strengths and weakness and what you like and dislike. Doing something like fixing grammer for example would be ideal if you had a good command of English grammer, which I don't have, so I would never tackle it. Fixing vandalism is another thing you can look it. Both of these types of task will get you used to the layout of the article, how they are structured depending on its type. A lot of that kind of stuff is automatically done through scripting so may not be as rewarding as first thought but will get you experience of what good articles look like and more so, what bad articles look like. If your particularly good at English and have some writing and research experience you could have a go at updating an article that has particular fault. For example, in the maintenance tasks list there is the section called "Improve lead sections". The lead/lede (two spellings) sections in the article are particularly problematic as they provide the opening context or meaning of what the subject is about. Its essentially a summary of the article and needs to be accurate. They are generally quite easy to write but easy to get wrong. For the reader a wrong lead is problematic. Fixing the WP:LEAD in small WP:STUB's, (small stubby articles) are fairly easy, just by reading the article and writing what you think the summary should be. Lastly, please check out the WP:TEAHOUSE for new editors, a place to ask questions, WP:Help desk for asking technical questions about problems on Wikipedia and the reference desk at WP:Reference desk for difficult factual problems that need resolved. Right, I'll leave it there for the moment. Its a lot to take in, but don't worry too much about it. The knowledge seeps in. I can check some of your work and provide some help at any time. Hi @Robdiamond116: How are you? Welcome to Wikipedia on your first edit. Well generally you don't add a detailed biography of yourself unless you are considered notable and there is a policy known as Conflict of Interest that governs the ways it is written. Generally when a person is writing about themselves, the article tends to be bit skewed, be a bit unbalanced and a bit puffy or promotional so it is generally discouraged but it can be done if you are notable and sources are available. I would write it for you. There is an area you can write about yourself until your hearts content that is known as the user page. Yours in located at User:Robdiamond116. Here is an example of an editor with a good user page User:Cullen328. You can see how Cullen describes what is background and how he came to Wikipedia and so on. Now your here, I've added a thing called a template to your talk page here User talk:Robdiamond116 which is essentially a landing page full of links to help you find stuff, which takes a bit of time. Hi! Is this a proper reference for Harriet E. Wilson? In my retirement I've been reading a sizeable collection of books handed down from my dad's father. My habit is to research terms, words and people that I'm unfamiliar with. One such book is Experiment Perilous, by Margaret Carpenter. Published by Little, Brown and Company 1943. In the story one Dr. Huntingdon Bailey is the lead character/hero. At the bottom of page 108 appears this sentence: "Dr. Bailey's office secretary-nurse was called Harriet Wilson and, unlike the lady who had born that name some time earlier, had as anonymous a personality as the name suggested." --Pepere'slibrary (talk) 19:26, 27 February 2026 (UTC)

Hi @Pepere'slibrary: How goes it? Not really unfortunately. Its not a good reference. I think the book is fiction and shes mentioned on the periphery. It does show she was known though which means there is more references out there. Try looking at [], Google Books and the Internet Archive, Refseek. There seems to be plenty on the women. I see they made the book it into a film Experiment Perilous. This women is famous. There is a mountain of coverage. It goes on an on and on, e.g.

Hi @Turkeycrook: How you doing mate? Its good to see you. Yes, the tags are used to define exactly what kind of maintenance needs done to the article. When you put a tag on, its puts the article is particular maintenance category (See WP:PROJCATS). For example, when you look at this maintenance category e.g. Category:Articles with topics of unclear notability (your need to copy into the search box to find it). When you look at this maintenance category, you see a whole load of articles. Somebody has tagged them with Non-notability tag and its placed it thus category. At the other side there editors in different wikiprojects that look/manage and fix each of these in article the category. For each type of tag, there is maintenance category that some group editors are working on. To use tags, try and put the least number in that you can. If you can fix something quickly, e.g. a cleanup, do the cleanup and don't leave a tag. Some of that work is difficult and its better to tag the article so a specialist to take a look at it, later For example, if its a WP:BLP, biography of a living person and there is stuff unsourced and say its been tagged already and not been updated in 6 months, remove the stuff. But if your unsure, e.g. if its unsourced, then tag and leave it for somebody else Eventually you will get experience whats what but try and leave the least tag you can. @Turkeycrook: This is a maintenance category for articles that needs more citations. Category:All articles needing additional references Don't be too worried at the size. It actually a small list at the moment. You can see its goes back to 2010. Some of them are very hard to source correctly. Thanks so much that’s a lot of help. I have another question about how I can do as editing on things that I am good at. I’ve found that I’m good at writing articles in a consistent and neutral tone and wanted to see if there’s a way to find articles that need that kind of help. Do filters like that exist? @Turkeycrook: Yea, kind of. There is a script that runs that provides a list of articles that need worked on that is sent to your talk page. I'll find that for you. Its been a while since I've looked at it. Also take a look at WP:COM. Down at bottom is a list of tasks needing done. You can see more at the task centre here WP:TASKS. Its a boon I think the fact you can write good articles. Probably since your quite new, the best way is to do it through the WP:DRAFT system. You create an article, publish it in draft using the WP:Article wizard and then its reviewed by another editor. For new article writers, its a good way of getting constructive feedback quite quickly. If you wrote something, I could review for you. It would great if you could create a bundle of articles. scope_creep^Talk 19:32, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

Hi @Feebee82: How its going? Yes, of course you can. Are you using the visual editor or the markdown? Open the article for editing from the edit menu, then make the correction, then leave a summary of your work in the edit summary box at the bottom of the edit window and then hit publish changes. Take a look at WP:HEP. There is a wee video about half-way down on the right that shows you how to edit an article. Its a very old video but its accurate. WP:REB is another good video. It shows you how to add citations easily. The visual editor, I've not used it but is menu driven so relatively easy to use and uses a similar edit loop. Sometimes when you edit, you might get an edit-conflict. That way I do it is to mark and save the section or sentence you have worked on, close it, refresh the page and then go back and edit again and add your stuff. The software does try and fix it for you when you crack on, but often you have to go back in and fix it manually anyway, sometimes is a pain in the posterior, so its easier to do it that way. I recently made my first edit to Wikipedia, to a thankfully sparsely used or referenced page ( over at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_52_Project ).

While feedback on my first change would be phenomenal, I really just have a question or two on the topic of references and sources:

When referencing a webpage for a group or organization, is it helpful to cite a sub-page of that site even though the home page is already referenced? E.g. if MyWebPage.com is already referenced, but I add additional details only found on MyWebPage.com/subPage, should I add that as a second reference?

Additionally, I saw a note when making my edit about using a secondary source(like a news article) instead of a primary source. While this makes sense to avoid bias and interpretation of data, it makes less sense on an article like this where its just the raw data. Hi @Tormidal: How goes it? Its good to see you. Sorry, I had to remove those two press-releases you added. They are not the best references and are generally WP:PRIMARY. They don't add anything to the article and it is generally frowed upon to use as they provide no value to establishing notability. They are not considered unreliable e.g. Goodreads. When you look at WP:RSP, the perennial sources noticeboard, you can see it lists a load of common references and whether they are unreliable or not. For example goodreads is on it as being unreliable. Its doesn't cover everything but it does a lot of the common day-to-day sites for the ones that are particularly dodgy. Cision is a press-release aggregator. Its a WP:PRIMRY.

There is a script that flags up they quality of the sources. Its flags them up in the colour red, which not to use. There is reliable sources noticeboard WP:RSN. They will discuss a source to see if its good and come to a consensus whether it is good. There is an archive there you can search to see if its good. On second sources on sites, yes. Some sites are vast, some have millions of pages, so problem putting more in from different parts. WP:SECONDARY sources are they gold standard for estbalishing notability. For example on a WP:BLP, its some person talking to another person about another person they don't know. They are detached from the original event, so its a truly secondary event and there is many scenario's to guage whether it is secondary, e.g. who is doing the talking. On the last point, your leaving yourself open to getting the article deleted. If it's all WP:PRIMARY sources, then if somebody sees it will get deleted very quickly at WP:AFD. Only secondary sources can establish notability. Primary sources are for the small details around the subject/event/domain/whatever but it need secondary details to show it has a place here. Hi @BlackMiomi: How are you? I'm assuming its this draft here Draft:Oloma your talking about. It's not been deleted. On the 9th April it was reviewed and it didn't pass the review. The reason for that is that large sections of the article are unsourced. The message that was left doesn't really doesn't tell you whats going on although it does say its "not supported by reliable sources" meaning it is missing references. That means the article fails WP:V. Whole sections of the article are unsourced, for example the "Geography" section. Each sentence generally needs a source. Your 3 references while not standard are not bad. If they were in a standard format it would be easier on the reviewer. Take a look at WP:REFB. There is a wee video half-way down which describes how they are created. I see you missted the {{Reflist}} tag. I've added that in, which rationalises your refs in a correct place and seems to fix a whole bunch red links at the bottom. Your also missing page numbers, which will make it difficult for the reader to find your refences. So what its needs before its resubmitted it to 1) Add more references. 2) Try and make them standard looking 3) Add page numbers so folk can find the page. Hope that helps. Hi @Daltonius: How goes it? Nice to meet you. I don't know if Wikipedia is left-leaning or a right-leaning to be honest. It is what it is. I think you have a large number of people cooperating to produce a produce a product, in this case millions of article, the group effect tends to be left-wing at scale. I've not actually looked at it but I think that it is only way it works. Folk strive for honesty on here. We are not looking for a political viewpoint or importing any particular political or otherwise. Wikipedia has a very strict policy on this called WP:NPOV. Its is used to ensure that articles are balanced and neutral. Wikipedia strives for accuracy and if you seeing a conversative figure being right wing and talking about conspiracy theories then its likely the case that the person is right-wing and a conspiracy theorist. You must strive for accuracy on here. Not what thing should be but what they actually are. Folk strive for facts here and nothing else. If you plan to edit I would leave the politics at the door. But then they call Ben Shapiro, who opposes same-sex marriage and believes being transgender is a mental illness, a traditional conservative. I'm just wondering who decides what's extreme and getting a feel for the trust level. Wikipedia chooses to include politicians which I love. I just think that if the aim is to create a pure encyclopedia, defining anybody as extreme or conspiracy theorist or even moderate is antithesis unless it's directly linked to a specific event. @Daltonius: The notability of these types of articles that are known as a Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons ,is based on WP:SECONDARY sources. These types of references are the gold standard, essentially meaning somebody talking to somebody else about the person, who doesn't know that person. WP:SECONDARY defines it as as "analysis, evaluation, interpretation, or synthesis of the facts, evidence, concepts, and ideas taken from primary sources." So its one removed. Secondary source has a good description of its function. Take a look at WP:V as well, which is a policy. Folk are described by their actions. Everything that MTG has said and done is recorded somewhere usually in a newspaper or somewhere else and that it telling. I'm assuming that MTG is Marjorie Taylor Greene. Anybody that reads a paper knows that she is a well know conspiracy theorist. Most republican figures in the US are to the right of the UK tories which makes them far-right on the political spectrum. While it is well known to those who think and read that she is a conspiracy theorist, it still has to be verified WP:V, to a reliable WP:RS, secondary source.WP:SECONDARY reference and then the content must be balanced and neutral WP:NPOV. I could tell you why MTG is a conspiracy theorist, but your not generally allowed to espouse your own views on here. Hi @Jellocube: I never replied to this before as it's has been sometime since I left that warning, almost 2 years ago. You put a brass plate notice for instructions to the reader in the Quenya article, the type you would find in software documentation that was completely unsuitable for a encyclopeada. You never leave instructions for the reader, particularly something that is a of a commercial nature. Its it is a clear fail of WP:NOT. @Djanssen: Then why does reads likes its been been written by a LLM? How do you explain that? I have reviewed a lot of these articles types now and can recognise AI text like the sun coming up. You introduce whole concepts that haven't been spoken about before and never explained, making it unreadable for the general reader. The whole convoluted language of these sections is completely non-encyclopeadic. I understand that artists have a particular rationale that is sometimes particularly hard to explain, even to themselves and getting that across to the general reader is sometime difficult, but having written several artists articles myself I know it can be done. I would suggest your rewrite the sections, offline. If they go back in, in that state, then it's Afd with a deletion tag WP:TNT. Morning Call

Thank you for the message you left on my Talk page.

The reason I reverted it is because I see Morning Call and The Call as different programmes, and of course Morning Call is back on air after many years. That said, I can see why you opted for redirect, with the intent being to effectively merge the original Morning Call with The Call which effectively replaced it, but it also meant that some information was lost, which is what usually happens with mergers.

I also considered your comment that Morning Call would not survive an AfD and I agree which is why I did not re-revert. I think it is very unlikely that references would now be found for a programme that ended so long ago and it is very possible than an AfD would have occurred sooner or later and as you said before, I don't think it would have survived. This way the salient information is retained and an article for the new early-morning programme can be written in the future, and there are bound to be references to ensure it would survive any AfD attempt. Isn't there a template for sections needing citations? I'm not super active here but I do edit for other sites like the Minecraft wiki, usually people don't remove half the page over this. @Realshow19: The sections were unsourced for more than 6 months, so it is perfectly reasonable to remove the content per established consensus. Wikipedia is not the same as other wikies on the web. First and foremost, its an encyclopedia, so the content must be verifiable. There is a whole series of policies and guidelines that define exactly what can be added, in what format and everything that is added must have a reference per sentence. The stuff can go back if, if its referenced, but if its not referenced properly, it will be pulled. There is a template for section citations missing, but the uncited sections where there for more than 6 months so were removed. You can't slap on a template on an uncited section and expect it to be accepted. That is considered disruptive. An attempt must be made to source each section. Was the page assigned to someone specific? I don't know why the sources couldn't just be added when they came into question, it's not up for dispute that these characters are in the show. Generally speaking, you put the location as New York, which is well understoood as a publishing centre. According to Worldcat here: its dated to 2000. So the date would set to 2000, and year would be removed. So it would be become something like this.

• Gonzalez, Juan (2000). Harvest of Empire: A History of Latinos in America. New York: Penguin Books. p. 67. ISBN 0-670-86720-9.

The language entry would be lower case. If the article your writing is good and you take eventually take it to WP:GA for example, they would be expecting to see a oclc attribute/value pair. That links it to worldcat. So it becomes something like:

• Gonzalez, Juan (2000). Harvest of Empire: A History of Latinos in America. New York: Penguin Books. p. 67. ISBN 0-670-86720-9. OCLC 42002545.

Your book also has an edition field. If you took your article to WP:GA for example and certainly WP:FA, you would expect to see it. If you were writing rigourously, to very high standard, articles that were closed, meaning everything tied up, then you would expect to see an edition field. The book itself will provide it, so it becomes edition=1st or edition=Revised and so on and whatever.

Lastly, if you wanted to reference a chapter, then fill in the editor fields, and put the main chapter author in last1, first1 and so on, and the chapter name in the chapter field. If you have a web reference and you think its really important, you can archive it in the way back machine. Put in the archive-url and archive-date fields, so its never lost. That cover 95% of the use cases.

Hello @Kimakishi: Welcome to Wikipedia!! I suggest not leaving any warnings with regular editors. Its called "don't template the regulars". Speak to them instead to explain what your problem is. I would also thank folk who are working with you. You can do that through the editors contribution history. You'll see the undo and thank buttons at each revision entry. That tells folk you appreciate their work and they are more likely to help you in the future. In a way your collecting them. I would say maintain good manners and don't loose your cool in WP:AFD or any of the admin board discussions. Assume WP:AGF. Try and understand that folk are driven by different motivations on Wikipedia. Its not just the altruistic need to build an encyclopaedia. Others who are getting paid for example, need paid to keep a roof over their head. Others are just trying to preserve a memory of a friend or relative. Handle with care. They may be grieving while they are trying to update the article. A bit of understanding goes a long way. Get to the policies around articles understood, like WP:NPOV, WP:BIO, WP:PRIMARY, WP:SECONDARY, WP:BLP which is particular important and the WP:NOTABILITY and WP:V, WP:NACADEMIC. Even though your not creating articles, you must have some appreciation of the polices associated with different subject types. If you ever get around to adding references, take a look a wee training video half-way down the article at WP:REFB. Its really handy. Don't add any social media junk to an article and learn what can be added and what can't in terms of source material. I know I've mentioned quite a quite a lot. Takes a bit of time to leak-in, perhaps months, so don't be too hard on yourself. If your fixing grammar and punctuation errors, perhaps you could join the Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors. Hi @Mohamed Najah Pookkottur: How goes it? I would read WP:YFA first, which describes what needs to be done first when approaching the development of an article. The article you develop will be done in WP:DRAFT. This is an area where you can easily work on it, undisturbed and once completed you can submit it for review by an external reviewer. If it follows follows policy correctly in format, layout, structure and so on, as well as proper referencing, it will moved to article-space where it will become a live article. You would create the article in your sandbox (a silly name but accurate) found here User:Mohamed Najah Pookkottur/sandbox and then somebody will come along and submit it into draft where you can work on it, until its ready for you, or you can create the draft article directly by filling in the dialog box field at WP:DRAFT. Newspapers, magazines, dictionaries, journals, websites with editorial control, meaning they are ran by an editorial team, academic sites are good places to get references. Hi @N198UA: If you are a new editor who has came in to recreate an article that was deleted because it was created by a banned or block user, then it tends to be the assumption that you are the banned or blocked editor, or related somehow to that editor (See WP:COI) and its viewed in that manner. I see you are a new editor. I see what looks like two articles in your user space that you have written. As they stand, those two article aren't fit for article-space on Wikipedia and I will likely send them to WP:AFD if they are moved to article-space, where there will be a discussion on whether to delete them. They will get deleted as they appear to be merely event listings without encyclopaedic merit. They seem to be entirely routine in nature. Wikipedia is not a listing site for spurious or routine content. We are not an almanac. New editors generally go through the WP:DRAFT process. This is an area where articles can be worked on at your leisure, then get reviewed by an independent reviewer to ensure they are to up to standard and if they are, they can be moved to article-space.

It's the general case that articles can be recreated and they do all the time, but they must follow the rules. The banned or blocked editor has usually created it in a manner that breaks some part of policy, like e.g. no or bad references, its promotional, or badly written, WP:NPOV, WP:TNT, non-notable, an attack article, or perhaps a hoax and so on. There are several to many reasons why it would get deleted and the editor removed. But it could be a notable subject, so its recreated by somebody who is capable of writing it properly. scope_creep^Talk 05:06, 1 July 2026 (UTC)

Okay. So, not a good idea to recreate that article.

I found a second deleted page (Not sure if it is related, there no user listed by it was mentioned to have been created by a banned or blocked user (Pages are Northern Thunderbird Air Flight 204, which was made by a banned/blocked user named “TyHaliburtn” (IDK how to link to their user), and Summit Air Flight 802D (I don’t know who the article creator for that article is). The reasons for the pages on my article is because my user is because my user is based on the Boeing 747-422 that was N198UA. The other article was the article that I mentioned that I accidentally moved after getting confused by WP: RUU and later I hopefully did it correctly (The article was deleted but I tried to put the revision that I put on my article) and I put it on my page since I added most of the info at the time of when I moved it to my page. I am not intending to move them to the article space.

Hi @N198UA: No, I don't think your a banned or blocked user. There is a general assumption that if somebody comes in quite quickly after an article is deleted, then its some group working on it, and they need it to be created. I think your in earnest. Oh, right. I never realised. You can ask for the article that was deleted to be WP:REFUNDed. I think you can if its a blocked editor that created it. Once its refunded by an administrator, its put in WP:DRAFT. Might be worth a go. If you can't get it back and you think its definitely notable, recreate it. Hi @Mathglot: Closer to a year I think, since the conversation stopped. She had cancer of the breast and it was being treated as a chronic condition with pills, one type after another, but then she had go in for an op. She told me who she was, where she lived and so on. I also searched for an obit and some announcement of death as well, some name, in the newspapers around her place, but couldn't find anything either. I don't know. My mates father died recently and the family put an announcement in a Glasgow newspaper, which was the first I'd heard anybody doing that for ages, so not necessarily. I saddens me greatly. I assume you also have name/email/FB as well. There is one people search I tried that returns 8 results given name + approx. location; one result has several prior addresses thousands of miles apart from each other that match the location of E's higher education institutions listed on her FB page, so that seems highly likely to be her. For $2.95, they claim they will provide 5 phone numbers (according to the area codes given, none are anywhere near her current loc); email (already have it); 9 other addresses; and userids at twitter, linkedin, and academia. Regarding Draft:Smalt

Hi. I'm a bit skeptical of your reasons for moving the page Smalt into draftspace following a major edit by TAHPaul. Your provided reasons were: "Reason/s: no sources, machine-generated".

I have not talked to & do not know TAHPaul. That said, TAHPaul's contribution history shows that his(?) first edit was the creation of Technical art history via AFC. This page creation occurred in April 2020, before the widespread availability of LLMs, measured 20,690 bytes and contained numerous references and external links. Ergo, I would argue that writing a long article out of the blue -- without the use of any LLM -- is within this user's capabilities.

In regards to sources: The edit by TAHPaul provided at least 20 new references, along with citation notes, mentions of the authors in-text, and a subsection regarding the documentation of smalt production. I do acknowledge that there are no citations in the introduction, and the first citation appears near the end of the first section, giving it the appearance of no sources at a glance. Later sections with more technical details are rather thoroughly cited. I have checked, and every referenced book/article/etc. exists, though some are not digitally available.

Searching the internet for "technical art history Paul" and "Paul smalt research" both lead me to a technical art historian named Paul whose work as a PhD student and museum research associate includes a focus on smalt. I figure that someone who has been researching smalt and related pigments for several years probably knows more than an LLM.

If there are other aspects of the Smalt article that need improvement, I'm eager to help where I can.

Hi @Astronomyfortwo: How goes it? I see what you mean. I found him relatively easy. I originally moved it to draft because it looked suspicious. Here is a 43k article that appeared out the blue with no on-Wikipedia development. Normally such an article would take at least a couple of months if it was researched from a standing start. So it either had to be an expert, a specialist in the field that wrote it, or a LLM. I felt it was LLM written as it hadn't had the normal on-wikipedia development period and looked and read in parts that look like LLM. Certainly, I know there is plenty of off-wiki editing tools that could be used to write it. Regarding the draft, I was looking for a second point of view. The fact you have checked the references provides me with some level of confidence that is factually correct. Hi @FinnElGhifari-78e: Assuming your using the source editor, then please take a look at WP:REFB. Half way down is a wee video on the right that is a tutorial on how to do it. You will see at the top of the editor window is a cite button. When you click on templates, it gives four choices - cite web, cite news, cite book and cite journal, which are the most common types. Some of the dialogue form are active, where you can put a value and it will do a lookup and attempt the fill the form for you. If your using the visual editor, take a look at these how-to's WP:VEREFB and WP:INTREFVE. When you create the references, fill as many fields as you can. Hope that helps. I finally managed to take a look at your faculty page and unfortunately I can't decide whether you would be considered to be notable or not, so I'm unsure about taking on the task of writing an article on you. I've been told that that a lot of these paid guys are con artists and just as likely to take your money and deliver nothing, so I would avoid them. What I would suggest UCLA1969 is to declare a WP:COI declaration and then create a small WP:STUB article of perhaps 2-3k in size, in the WP:DRAFT system and wait until get it reviewed. It will take some time. If its successfully reviewed and is promoted to article-space, then I will help you build a bigger version. Its the best I do at the moment. Right @Labrakadabra:. I asked for help up at the WP:AFC help desk. Normally in these situations the first draft usually gets precedence, but the editor hasn't been in for some months and its only a few weeks before that draft gets deleted. There is also question around notability regarding that draft at the moment, while your draft is in a better condition and seems to be notable. The draft systems gives you about 6 months to write the article, before you submit it for review. If it passes review by other uninvolved editors, then its promoted into article space. Hi @Madhucharu: How goes it. Welcome to Wikipedia!!. . Eh, difficult question and depends a lot of context. If its a supplementary source, it can add context to a specific part of the sentence, to provide extra explanation. Other times you could use in other places, for example, in a reference for a notes list entry, where your trying to explain something and its needs a note, so give it a ref. Try and limit these types of source to the minimum if you can. If you can a provide a good secondary and source and can the sentence properly, then only that source. Hi @ArtfulBadgerBedford: Welcome to Wikipedia. Generally the font isn't changed as its tied to the theme your using which is set in preferences. It can be changed using HTML markup, but that is generally only used on project spaces for specific purpose like e.g. in templates, talk pages and stuff like that. The reason for not using raw HTML is one of accessibility. It has to be readable by everybody. When you start setting particular styles of text, certain group with particular software and equipment and other requirements might not be able to read it it. Accessibility is a big thing on WP. It is less important than it was certainly, as software is getting more advanced and standardised but it is still a consideration. You can change the size, make italics or bold the text, certainly from the editing bar at the top. Wikipedia has a manual of style that must be followed for each article. Take a look at this section: Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Text formatting which is formatting standards for text. There is also this article: Help:Advanced text formatting, but you will see it states clearly "Not suitable for mainspace articles", so shouldn't be used in Loughborough Lightning (rugby union). As your using the visual editor, it might worth editing the article manually in markup. It gives you much finer control over how you select a particular cell. Do you that you need switch between the visual editor and the markup editor. Open the article in visual editor and on the right you will see a pencil icon. Click that and drop down will open and select source editing and it will open the source editor with the markup editor. Then you can select the cell individually to edit it. Save the article when finished with a proper edit and then check it once saved to make sure the formatting is correct. If its not, revert the article in the contribution history and have another go. An keep doing the edit/save/check/revert cycle until your satisfied its good. Hope that helps. I just found an impenetrable science-heavy article when looking for a simple list on amino acids needed in the human diet. And this one was specifically protein focused - there was disambiguation from another article that wasn't. surely 99/100 times someone searches for amino acids it would be the food topic of interest. shouldn't articles start simple and plain/clear before getting more complicated as you progress? More and more people are relying on wikipedia now bc Google is all AI slop. I consider myself a good communicator - I'm an English teacher. Hi @Kanakbadaya: Your best bet is to use the WP:DRAFT system. Take a look at WP:YFA, which describes most of what you need to know to get you started. To create the article, use the wp:article wizard which will guide you through a series of questions to create the draft. Once you have created it, submit it and somebody will review. If its good it reach mainspace and be a proper article. Make sure you add solid WP:SECONDARY sources that pass WP:V. Read WP:NOTABILITY, WP:BIO, WP:PROF, WP:NCORP, [[WP:NSPORT] and so on. Don't use social media/streaming/directory sites for you references. Find proper references: newspapers, books, journals, google books, internet archive, university sites. Use refseek for this. Hi @NammudeKureepally: I had a look at your contributions. I was planning to add a landing page with a whole bunch of links but I see there is one here. I have this map here. Take a look at this User:Scope creep/Articles for Deletion Notice. Ignore the name. Its a temporary working area, a sandbox. It has a "OSM Location map" template in it. It a mapping mechanism. You can copy it and use it yourself. It made up of attribute/values pairs. So it is editable. You can set the title name, captions, points, locations and so on. Once you set the coords properties, it will pull in map grid for you, automatically, for that area. You add points, locations names and so. You can set the viewport, which gives you size of your map. New pages patrol September 2026 Backlog drive

September 2026 Backlog Drive | New pages patrol
On 1 September 2026, a one-month backlog drive for new pages patrol will begin at a particularly important time for NPP. The backlog has now passed 30,000 unreviewed articles, a level that has been described in current NPP discussions as exceptionally high and potentially difficult to overcome through normal reviewing alone. Backlog drives are one of the few measures that have historically produced a noticeable reduction in the backlog, so the participation of as many active patrollers as possible will matter this month. If you can review during September, please make articles your priority. Every article that is reviewed is a meaningful reduction in the backlog. With the queue at its current size, even a relatively small increase in the number of articles each patroller reviews can add up to a substantial difference over the course of the month. This is a hybrid drive, so redirect reviewing is still included. Redirects can be a useful way for newer patrollers to get comfortable with NPP and can help people build up to reviewing articles. However, the main goal of this drive is to tackle the article backlog, and experienced patrollers are particularly encouraged to spend as much of their available reviewing time on articles as they can. Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Each article review will earn 1 point, while each redirect review will earn 0.2 points. Streak awards will be given out based on consistently hitting point thresholds for each week of the drive. Barnstars will also be granted for re-reviewing articles previously reviewed by other patrollers during the drive. If you have been thinking about doing more NPP, this is an especially good month to jump in. Whether you can review a few pages or hundreds, every review helps. Hi @Archiwee: Welcome to Wikipedia. You would have to create in the WP:DRAFT system. Take a look at WP:YFA. Its an howto article on what you need to write an article. There is a lot a lot to take in and do to write a sucessful article. In the draft system, the article is written, then submitted for review by an independent reviewer. It its a good review, it passes into mainspace. You will need to be careful of what sources you add. WP:NEWSORGINDIA covers the types of sources and likely applies here. Look for high sources in books and avoid any sources from websites or news sites e.g. The Times of India, that are mentioned in that paragraph. I'm assuming the composer is a living person, which means the WP:BLP policy applies. The golden rule for BLP's is that use WP:SECONDARY sources i.e. people who are talking about the subject to another person, who don't know the subject to ensure the person is notable. This will satisfy the notability policies WP:BIO, and WP:SINGER, WP:COMPOSER, WP:GNG. Don't use social media for references, at all. To start in draft, go to the Wikipedia Article Wizard and fill that in the fields one after another. Read these policies, the YFA and begin the draft. That will get you started. Hi @Bearian: How goes it? It not the fact there was text there in the source section, but they copied from the de Wikipedia in a translation effort which is laudable and I'd normally leave it to improve a bit, but all references are either landing page, 404's, passing mentions or dead links. It is a WP:BLP. I assumed he was notable as he's at thee university in Berlin, Germany, and he wouldn't have got there if he wasn't a heavyweight, but it is a WP:BLP with no functioning refs. Ideally I would like somebody to reference it properly. scope_creep^Talk

Thanks for the edits on James Cuff, you are right, there are orphans. My page was deleted in 2023 and only recently came back, but alas, the links were also removed as part of the AfD process. Hi @Mrbeast2027: Welcome to Wikipedia. They are called inline citations. Take a look WP:REFB which is a small training video, its half-way down the page. The explains how to create the references. That assumes your using Markdown. Once you create it as <ef>Some text</ref> the created references appears at the end of the article. The {{Reflist}} template gathers it all together in one place. Its a standard size and can't be altered so it stays the same size. This provides further clarification on how its done WP:IC. This here gives you several examples of what citation template to use when for a specific type of source. For example if its a newspaper, you would use {{cite news |last= |first= |date= |title= |url= |work= |location= |publisher= |access-date=}} and so on. If your using Wikipedia visual editor. follow this: Wikipedia:VisualEditor editing of references Its same kind of process. The visual editor creates the same kind of Wikitext as if you were doing it manually. It uses the same templates to the create same effect. If you need a concrete example, I can show in your sandbox, how it would be done. Hope that helps. Emoji redirects

This is a follow-up regarding emoji redirects, to which you ignored my reply on my talk page on which I even tagged you in. I would really like to hear your opinion on this and genuinely what made these change of redirects considered unconstructive.

"I fail to understand how these are not constructive edits? Their transient emoji meanings are indeed reflected in the current redirects (a literal melon, grapes, etc.), but not the slang meaning(s) noted in Wiktionary. So exactly like you said, it is an encyclopedia, so I would like some closure as to why redirecting these select emoji with various contextual meanings to Wiktionary is not the move here. Especially where the literal page does not note such meaning, or there doesn't exist a specific page that denotes their meaning as Wiktionary does. For example, someone searching "🍇" (a grape emoji) is typically aware that it represents a grape, or grapes, but wouldn't immediately understand the slang meaning interpreted on it via social media, which is covered again, on Wiktionary, and a very brief mention on Algospeak."

The following articles are my proposals to change targets to their Wiktionary equivalents; 🤡, 🗿, 🥷, 🍒, 🍈, 🍇, 🍉, 🌽, and the new addition of 🧃. Hi @FrostyUrsa: Welcome to Wikipedia The first edit was ok apart from taking away "bittersweet". That is obviously been picked up from some review or something and a type of emotional colouring that you would use when talking about a play. On the rest of the edits, you have to make sure you provide a reference when you put in content, although I think that was a plot and you don't references for it. @Cmtbasecamp: Welcome to Wikipedia. I would start by reading WP:LOGOS. You would have to declare a Conflict of interest since you have a relationship with the organisation via WP:DISCLOSE. Once you created the logo, assuming its public, you can upload it and select the appropriate licence. Then you will need to apply for an Edit Request. You make this in the article talk page. An uninvolved editor will come along and take a look at the logo, make sure its fit for purpose and if so, then they will add it in for you. It sometimes takes a wee while for the Edit Request to be answer, perhaps more than a month. Once you have uploaded it, its a matter of waiting. The only thing that is problematic is the selection of the licence for the image. I see the previous one is public so much easier to use on and doesn't get normal checks that would be present for a licenced image. Thats all. Hope that helps. Im here most days.
